WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (new mission groups have not left yet!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || June 1st, 2012, 9:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

She's not used to talking to other women, much less getting compliments from them. So she gets a bit awkward and passes her beer back and forth between her hands, and eventually takes a drink, nodding.]
Don't really hear that all that much.
[All that confidence from earlier is now gone, replaced with just not knowing how to respond.]

You seemed comfortable. I was nervous as anything when I was squired, though - [a quick glance around to see if either Faye or Deadpool are nearby] - it was with two much more colorful personalities than me.
[She smiles and decides against a joking demand for Jo to give up her secret, but holds her free hand out.]
I'm Tallisibeth. When I'm not in trouble, people call me Scout.

She glances down at Scout's hand before taking hold of it and giving it a hearty shake.]
Think I'll stick with Scout, then. And in case you didn't catch it, I'm Jo. Joanna Beth when I'm in trouble, but only my mom gets away with calling me it. Anyone else tries, they get a fist to the face.

[Her hand has harsh-textured calluses on it, the kind that snag on fabric. She squeezes a little, not trying to crush, and when Jo releases it she hooks that hand by the thumb into her sash.]
Smarter than me. I told Wynn my whole name, so of course that was how he announced me... Anyway, welcome to the Knights.

[She keeps the conversation rolling, even if it's a boring question, it's information she can use later. The more experienced knights are going to have different insight than the people who haven't been around all that long, so she wants to hear things from both sides of the table.]
Someone said earlier parties like this happen almost every month now. I dunno if I'd ever get used to things like this. It's way too formal for me.

Seems like they do. You can miss out on them if you want, or just show up for a moment, whatever. I don't think anyone will hold you accountable for them.

At least it gives me something steady to look forward to, right? [Wait, there's probably more that she could say here.]
Thanks for showing up for me. Or my party, anyway.

[Scout grins and shakes her head.] So I have to check every time.

Good luck with that one. He's stuffy enough you might have to drag him out there.
