[ This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans. Because we haven't finished out the other two logs yet, assume some time has passed since then, in case anyone was injured, so that they've had sufficient time to get better.

As for work stuff, you can assume they've been busy with establishing Finnick's fake rock star cred, and investigating some of the intel they'll uncover in those other logs that we haven't quite gotten to yet. JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT WORK and all will be well.

[ There's an immediate subtle shift in her posture when Finnick sits down, one brow arching, as her back straightens, throwing her chest out just a bit more, a slinky movement to her shoulders as she turns to look at him. It all seems subconscious and instinctive, maybe just due to long practice, but who knows. ]

That doesn't sound too surprising. [he gives her an eyebrow raise. then, in what must certainly be disappointing to dumage, he stops leaning over and goes back to sitting upright on his own side of the bar.]

[ She doesn't look bothered, or deterred in the least, and the bartender comes over. ]

Not really. [small shrug] I don't drink much, so when I do it's usually whatever's around at the parties I attend. Which is usually wine.

Lack of interest.

[ummm ok then. he shrugs it off and moves along.] They're not all that bad. I prefer some to others.

Actually, there's something I'd like to apologize for. I feel like I misjudged you when we first met.

[ Something furtive comes into her eyes as she looks at him again. ] Oh? How so?

I'm used to a certain kind of attention. Being treated a certain way. [like a sexy slab of man meat.] So when you treated me that way, I wrote you off as being ... I don't know, vapid and shallow, I guess.

But after the other night, when Buffy and Kat started making those jabs, it made me really angry [because i overidentified]. Now I feel like I wasn't any better than they were. So I'm apologizing.

[ she looks... almost actually surprised, watching him out of the corner of her eye carefully for a moment. ]

It isn't always without its advantages: that certain kind of attention. It can make people feel as if you wear everything on the outside, as if you're nothing but the sum of the way you look, or whatever little show you put on.

[ she shrugs slightly, reaching to take the drink that's set in front of her. ] Being written off allows you a certain degree of freedom, you might even say. Of course some people might find it cause to complain that no one appreciates them for their mind or their opinions, [ her eyes roll a bit ] but no one's going to suspect them of having them, either.

[he shrugs and keeps his head bowed. he knows exactly what she's talking about -- he's gotten away with so many things just by the virtue of pulling in ~that certain kind of attention~ and nothing else. he's also occasionally complained about not being appreciated for his beautiful mind, but that's neither here nor there.]

I just felt like saying something while I happened to be here.

Well. [ She leans over enough to rub her shoulder against his briefly ] Consider your apology accepted, if it means so much to you.
