Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Myri's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Light members - a comparatively small sect, and Kat, Wynn, and the incredibly stoic Sir Solace, section head of the Light, wait up at the front of the room for Myri to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Approach and kneel, Sir Myrilandel."

Sir de Tanos. You have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of this organization that has been deemed sufficient to induct you into our order as a full Knight of the Silver Dragon. We ask at this time that you answer this question honestly:

Do you wish to accept this position?

[witchwoman]

[She lifts her gaze from the floor, looking to Wynn and taking a deep breath.]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to respect all weaknesses, and constitute yourself the Defender of them?

[witchwoman]

Until my dying breath.

[dramatic but she means every word]

[wynn]

[ we like drama here ]

Do you swear to make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy?

[witchwoman]

[That question makes her pause while she weighs the implications. Without mercy. She swallows hard and looks inward. Is she prepared to forgo mercy for the sake of their cause?]

I... I do. [She's not as sure, but she does mean it. She shifts her gaze to Kat, trying to lose some of the nerves that the last question stirred up, but she focuses back to Wynn since he's running the show.]

I swear it. [There's more certainty in her voice now.]

[wynn]

Do you swear never to lie, and to remain faithful to your pledged word?

[witchwoman]

Without question.

[wynn]

Do you swear to be generous, and to listen to and respect all?

[witchwoman]

I do.

[wynn]

[ his eye fastens its heaviest gaze on myri, that intimidating glance that seems to read into the depths of her ]

Do you swear to be everywhere and always the champion of the right and the good against injustice and evil?

[witchwoman]

[And for the first time that night, she will meet that gaze, unflinching, because she has no fear left in her heart. This is where she is meant to be and what she is meant to do. Those words - the same words she used in Italy when she knew they needed to follow through, despite their orders. Did Wynn know that? Did it matter?]

Above all else, I swear it.

[ there's the smallest hint of what looks like approval in his eyes as he moves forward. ] Sir Solace. [ He speaks to the stoic man at his side without turning to look at him. ] Do you accept Sir de Tanos as a member of the Dragon's Light?

[sirsolace]

[ The stately balding man seems to glide forward beneath his white robes, standing there to scrutinize Myri from the step with eyes that appear to be weighing the full measure of what he sees, though they give no hint as to their final judgment. ]

Do you swear to stand as the healing light of the heavens to protect this Knighthood from harm?

[witchwoman]

[This man is a stranger. She's never said a word to him, but now he's meant to be the one she answers to. Myri aligns her gaze to his and swallows hard.]

I swear it.

[sirsolace]

Then by the power of my office, I grant thee the title of Full Knight of the Dragon's Light. [ He gestures solemnly with one hand to the place at his side ] Rise and join me.

[witchwoman]

[Myri stands slowly, hoping that the shaking of her knees isn't too noticeable.]

[sirsolace]

[ solace simply stares straight ahead as the crowd applauds, not deigning to give her so much as another glance as she takes her place beside him ]
