[Elena arrives at the coffee shop earlier than scheduled. She hasn't had much to do while she waits on her, hopefully, new friends, given that she's in the middle of a city she doesn't know with little more than her wallet and a cell phone that isn't getting any service, and no memory of her life other than vague people and places.

Needless to say, it's been a frustrating few hours, and the wait has been somewhat agonizing for her.

Fortunately, coffee is among the topics that she seemingly knows, and she happens to have some cash, so she's resorted to sitting the shop for the last hour. She's currently nursing her second large cup, which has grown cold in her hands. Hopefully they won't be too much longer...]

[Myri turns to look once she hears the girl, a smile breaking out over her face.]

I'm so glad you came. [Part of her had wondered if she would have followed the directions. Luckily, the spot Elena's picked appears to have enough seating (and adequate privacy) for the evening.]

I brought a few friends. I hope you don't mind.

Everyone... this is Elena.

[She looks a little embarrassed, but she shakes her head.]

I managed to avoid any other dangerous puddles, thanks.

[Then she addresses Mary/Myri.]

No, it's fine. The more the merrier.

[It was a pretty large group, and quite varied. She wondered how many people had been involved in that little thing at the music video shoot.]

Does this place serve food? [ kat is staring off at the counter, distracted, but seems to abruptly remember why they're here and look back. ]

And uh, nice to meet ya.

[slay]

Heeeeey, Elena. [ she gives a little wave. ] Sorry, it's just -- Y'know, Myri started talking, and then before you know it we're all tagging along and ... well, she comes with quite the entourage. [ she claps a hand on myri's shoulder. ]

[bigbad]

[Spike moves over next to Kat to look at the menu.] They scones look lovely. [He glances back at Elena because he should probably introduce himself.] I'm Spike.

[witchwoman]

I think I saw some cookies behind the counter? [She offers assistance with Kat's cravings.

Uhp. She should have possible informed the group that she had changed her name slightly, huh? Oh well... she was about to come clean about everything else, so the name thing shouldn't be a huge deal.

After taking a seat near Elena, she glances to everyone else before starting things off... quietly, of course.]

I'm sorry for the way I had to end things at the video shoot. I know it was a bit... abrupt, but I was concerned that someone might have been listening.

[She listens as each of them says their name, doing her best to look friendly, which isn't terribly hard. They seem nice, and like old friends, and being around them does nothing but increase her curiosity about them.]

No, I get it. I think. [She's pretty sure she will if they ever tell her what the heck was going on.] It just seemed like a pretty big coincidence, running into you guys like that.

Not real big with the fate and destiny thing, huh? [ she shrugs as she drops into the chair across from elena. ] Me either. Oh, and -- I'm Buffy, by the way. [ she adds it with a smile. ] We'll call it a happy coincidence, 'cause Nova? Not the place you wanna get caught in the middle of without us.

[while some people are focused on stuffing their faces, finnick keeps his attention on elena, sliding down in a seat next to buffy.]

It's just a lucky thing she had someone like me around to rescue her.

Very lucky. [Myri agrees, smiling at Finnick for a moment before averting her gaze back to Elena.] I suppose I should admit it now- My name isn't Mary. It's Myrilandel, but you can call me Myri. Everyone does.

We've all been where you are. Well... except for Kat. [At least, she's never heard Kat mention coming through the Veil.] Finding yourself in a strange place, the memory loss, all of it.

And we want to help you.

[ kat pulls herself away from looking at the food, folding her arms across her chest and shrugging ] It's sort of what we do.

[bigbad]

Yeah, we're big bloody heroes. [Spike slings himself into the chair on Buffy's other side. He's still a bit suspicious, but it doesn't show. Much.] How much do you remember from before your big swim?

[She takes the news of Myri's name just fine, since she'd been on a special mission of some sort, and she found herself chuckling before she could answer Spike. These guys were quite the crew, and she knew that she had likely been lucky to find them.]

Not much. It's pretty hazy. [Not something she wants to admit, but her memories don't seem completely...real. More like they were from a dream that she only somewhat remembered upon waking. Had she woken up in a bed and had anything else to make sense of things in her brain, she probably would have went with that, but she hadn't.] I was in a truck with a friend. He was driving really fast, but I think we were going toward something, not away. [A beat.] There was...something in the road, on a bridge, and we ended up crashing into the river.

[witchwoman]

[Myri reaches out and touches Elena's hand, offering a sympathetic look.]

That sounds terrible. Especially considering... [How you just sort of appeared in the pool? Yeah, she just leaves that unsaid and continues looking really sweet and caring.]

You may remember more in time, but... [Again, she drifts off, but there's a hard truth to be told.] It's not likely.

[She nods slowly. It's not an ideal situation by any stretch, but it could be worse. She could be terrified and alone, and she's not.

She glances around at all of them.]

And you've all been through this?

[bigbad]

Or close enough. I didn't have a welcoming party.

Less welcome party, more "how crazy am I, on a scale of one to Tom Cruise?" But, the good news is, being through it means we can be here for you now.

And even us non-Shadow-worldy peeps aren't all out to make your new life miserable. I've at least dealt with a lot of people in your sitch, even if I haven't been there.

[She chuckles.]

It's good to know not everyone believes I was just some hussy making a scene to get some famous person's attention.

Gee, I wonder who that must've been.

We all know better: no one's that interested in getting Finnick's attention.

[Myri just smiles.]

We couldn't really ask you about it with everyone else there. It wasn't safe.

Well, can you explain it now then? Where do you guys even come from? And why were you at that shoot?

[She raises a brow.]

It wasn't just for a music video, or you wouldn't have had a 'cover' in the first place. Especially when there were obviously more people involved.

[After all, Myri had brought quite a crowd, and she didn't see any of them mingling where she'd been.]

It's sorta classified. [ she screws up her face, examining elena carefully ] Can we swear you to secrecy?

It's all very James Bond. Except without enough martinis. [Spike is always helpful.]
