It's that time again. New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Monday - which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.

Sir Luthir stands off to one side, all impassive elf, armored in his light, beautifully worked metal, and carrying a sword. Red-headed Sir Ironsides hefts an axe over his shoulder and offers a boisterous greeting to those approaching, and Fred helps round people up to the middle of the room.

Some of the squires' mentor Knights will have accompanied them - others will have left them to their own devices. Everyone's welcome to tag into threads or make their own!

If I say 'plenty of times', does that make us look bad?

[He places Andie down as gently as possible, not giving Fred's comment much thought until he's done making sure that the girl is okay. He steps back, watching her nervously, hoping that whatever damage he's done can be undone. (HE'S NEVER KNOCKED SOMEONE OUT BEFORE AS FAR AS HE KNOWS, OKAY??? THIS IS REALLY STRESSFUL)]

I... Yeah, I guess. It just sort of came naturally.

So maybe you've had training, where you came from.

Is there any way to find out for sure?

[He pauses]

There's another squire who came from the same place I did- Emma. [There's a few people who did that, but this is easier.] She says she knows who I am... was.... She says I was a Prince.

[ well... that's something. he looks a little flabbergasted ] ... Are you telling me I'm squiring royalty?

I guess so... [That's a weird thought.] You're sure there's no way to recover my memories to find out for sure?

You'd be the first in centuries, dude. Brighter minds than ours have been at it that long.

Emma and Gold say they come from the same place I did. The stories don't really... match up, though. I'm not really sure what to believe.

Maybe people who think they have the right memories don't even. There's some food for thought.

So Emma could be mistaken. [He's not sure if he's relieved or disappointed by the thought.] In which case, I'm not royalty at all.

Hey, if I were you I'd say royal until proven peasantry.

[He laughs at that.] I like that.

[He looks back over at Andie.]

So how long does it take to... undo the damage?

None at all. Check it out. [ and indeed, solace is done casting his cure wounds spell... and andie is awake and back to sitting again, just like that ]

[Andie groans and sits up, blinking in confusion.]

Did I pass out...?

Something like that, champ. [ he squeezes her shoulder and solace gives him an annoyed Look ] How ya feelin'?

[Charming rushes forward to Andie's side, not touching her but looking so freaking apologetic.]

Andie... I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to- [He halts himself because the words feel lacking.] How do you feel?

It's cool, I'm fine. [She gives a half smile.] Seriously, don't worry. All healed up and okay. Got a nice nap in too!

If you're sure... [He still basically feels like a piece of shit.] You got a few good hits in though. If it makes you feel better.

[She grins at the praise.] I'm getting better at using my speed to hit people. Just gotta get better at dodging. [A beat.] That's funnier if you know my last name.

[ fred chuckles ] I tried to tell him you'd be okay.

Yeah... well I think I'm done sparring for the day, either way.
