[Andie ordered a dozen large pizzas from the closest pizza place and ran them back to the castle so she could feast. It was a lot, even for her metabolism, but hell, she could snack for a while, and this way she could even share if someone cool showed up. Anyway, it was on the knight's budget. Totally legit.

She took it to the TV room and stacked up the pizza boxes on the floor next to her. After devouring one of them, she picked up two of the controllers and started Mario Kart. Playing both at the same time was tricky, even with her attention span, but she didn't do too badly (concentration 12, use computer 15). But she was booooored. After almost thirty seconds of this, she stood up and started zooming through the castle, going from room to room in the squire section and knocking on doors, more or less at random.

When someone answers, she beams and gives a wave.]

Hi! Pizza party? Pizza and video games? Should be awesome!

Yes! [And she seems somewhat relieved, as she had been trying to figure out how to explain it in a way that could act as a deflective answer and now she's found it. Cultural. And with that comes a small smile.] Everyone wears gloves where I come from.

Huh. [Andie has never heard of a culture like that, but she's not an expert or anything.] So would that make you, like, from Shadow World?

Yeah. But it's pretty much this one, with a couple differences. I'm from Manhattan.

Oh cool! I've run through there.

It's great. I -- [Wait a second.] When you say ran, you don't mean the New York City Marathon do you?

Nope. I mean, I don't think so. I didn't see any Marathons, but it could have been the wrong street.

[Lila laughs the barest bit. Andie sounds like Sam a little.]

So you just ran through the city? For no reason?

Not no reason. I mean, I was in the area, felt like I should see it!

You can't see anything if you're running though.

[Andie shrugs.] Sure you can. I mean, it's not like I was sprinting. [Just a casual jog. Meaning like a third the speed of sound.]

Okay.

[She knows she is missing something here.] How... does that work, then?

Okay. So like... [She shifts around to face Lila.] I'm really fast. Cars and airplanes are slow to me fast.

Seriously?

[Well shit.]

Yep! It's sort of a family thing. My dad can do it too.

Oh. [And that makes way more sense now.] My dad and I have something like that. Except, it's not the same.

Oh? [She bounces in place, and suddenly she's... collapsed on the floor across the room with a pizza box overturned on top of her because she critfailed a move silently check.]

[Lila startles a little, because what?, but she doesn't move to help. Sorry.]

Do you need medical assistance?

[She holds a thumb up from under the box.]

I'm good! Probably should shower later.

Probably? [So much judgement. Eau de Pizza is not pretty.]

Definitely. [Look it's not enough to stop her from grabbing another slice of pizza and whizzing back to hang out with Lila again.]

[For the record, and bearing in mind Lila will never admit this unless Andie is dying, Andie is pretty good quality. Reminds Lila of Sam in that goofy, enthusiastic way he had. So she doesn't actually mind when Andie comes back. She is actually kind of pleased. (Starved for genuine attention doesn't begin to cover it.)]

Fast is definitely what you are. [She is harking back to a bit ago, but if Andie is physically fast she figures that mentally she isn't exactly slow.]

[She beams at the comment though at Andie's speed it's less compliment and just... fact.]

I'm descended from a goddess. [A beat.] Or god. We're not really sure which. But some god!

That's... weird. [What, she is being honest. It's a fucking virtue. But it is, weird, because that is so far from what Lila knows.]

[Andie shrugs.] It happens. Or... happened. Not so much over here, but in the Shadow World? Totally a thing.

I am still working on there being more than one god, actually.
