[ The Durere concert hall is absolutely packed when they make their way into the back after buying their tickets. Most of the people here have crowded the stage, although a few are parked at back tables with drinks casually procured from the bar. It's smoky and dingy and small, and the concert goers are arrayed in a variety of goth-looking ensembles: a sea of black and funky hair styles and piercings stretches out in front of them. The Knights look so abysmally out of place, it's almost funny. ]

[Any diplomatic hold Myri hopes to have is just slipping away in front of her eyes. She imagined this going so different and now she's fairly certain that Kat is going to shoot the girl no matter what she says.]

No! [She jumps forward between the two of them, moving to grab Nadia's wrist.] She will shoot you if you leave. I can promise you that. [She wishes she could be harder, colder. She wishes she could bully the woman into speaking with them, but all she has left is fear. Tears brim in her eyes as she speaks.] I have worked too hard and traveled so far to find a place where I did not have to be afraid. These men you are working with want to destroy that. I will let her kill you if that means protecting those that I love.

[ she struggles uselessly against myri's grip (str 4), and glares daggers at her, gritting her teeth ] You should be afraid. This world is crueler than any other that I can even imagine. [ myri can suddenly feel her tense up, and then she darts her eyes in kat's direction. kat readjusts her grip, looks to myri as if for the go-ahead, and her finger itches towards the trigger...

when the gun is ripped from her hands by some invisible force and goes clattering to the floor, sliding under a gun rack. ]

[witchwoman]

[Adrenaline is pumping apparently, because Myri's first instinct is to tighten her grip on Nadia's wrist and move to hold her, wrist twisted behind her as she presses her against the door (grapple 20 total).]

[ nadia was clearly not expecting the maneuver whatsoever, and myri feels something snap in the girl's wrist as she turns it, and slams her against the door (crit fail). kat scowls, hesitating about whether to go after the gun or not, but seems to decide myri's got this one and moves to shove clothes aside angrily. ] What the hell are you?

[ nadia grits her teeth against the pain and struggles to look back at myri. there's a strange deliberateness to her words as she orders: ] Let go of me. [ myri must make a will save of 16+ in order to keep from obeying the suggestion, and being unable to grab her again for 8 hours. also! make a spot check and text me :D ]

[witchwoman]

[With a will save of 20 total and a spot check of 17, Myri is laser focused on this mission. The snap of the girl's wrist makes her hesitate, as she can immediately sense the pain and feels the urge to heal it. It's when she spots the remnants of sawed off horns hiding under the girl's hair that she's able to swallow back that instinct. She's seen those before, hasn't she? Myri turns her head to look over her shoulder at Kat.]

She's like Rynn. [Because it was in the elevator that she saw horns like those. And it was while during research that she learned what it meant. She turns her attention back to Nadia.] You're a tiefling, aren't you?

[shootfirst]

[ Kats head jerks up from where she's found the gun, a frown cutting across her face. ] This is getting to be a mondo disturbing pattern, if you ask me.

[coldheritage]

I'm a person. [ the reply is steeped in bitterness that speaks to a thousand experiences of people assuming otherwise. ]

[witchwoman]

[Myri's grip loosens slightly. How many times in her childhood had she dealt with a prejudice so similar to the one she can only imagine Nadia experienced? They called her a demon, said that her magic brought death to their town. They claimed that she stole the souls of the dead and fed them to her familiar. She doesn't pull away completely, but her tone is much more empathetic to the woman's past.]

Of course. But if you work with these people, they will make you a monster.

[coldheritage]

They're the only ones who can stop me from becoming one.

[shootfirst]

[ abruptly kat draws a vibrating phone from her pocket ] Ut oh. Speaking of Monsters Inc. [ reading: ] Eijen-Kay and Ecker-Day incoming.

Very incoming. [ she looks at the door, hesitates, then gestures to myri to let go of nadia and come towards her, frantically. ]

[witchwoman]

[Myri trusts Kat with her life, so when she sees the gesture, she immediately releases the singer and falls back to Kat's side.]

Please, Nadia... [She pleads for a final time, knowing that this is the end of the line for this conversation.] Once they have you, I'm not sure if we will be able to help you. We won't be able to keep you safe.

[ as nadia stares at myri, looking actually conflicted, kat grabs myri's wrist, closes her eyes, and snaps the fingers on her other hand. ]

Tai ra nelf compendium! [ and myri would experience the disorientating feeling of suddenly vanishing from sight, as both girls go invisible, and kat yanks her back against the clothes rack.

only moments later, the door is yanked open and nadia's head jerks that way. her expression falters a bit as keijen strides in, decker filling up the doorway behind him. ]

[ keijen moves straight towards her, lifting one hand to her hair as he grants her a smooth smile ] Alys, my dear. You were radiant tonight. [ the smile drops a bit, however, as he examines her pale expression, his hand falling away ] What? Is something wrong?

[ nadia's eyes cast towards the place where the two girls stand invisibly, for a single lingering moment. myri can feel kat's grip tighten on her, ready to attack when nadia inevitably calls them out.

but instead, she forces a strained smile and looks back to keijen, shaking her head and pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. ] It's nothing. Merely exhaustion.

[witchwoman]

[Myri remains painfully still, but as Nadia dismisses Keijen's inquiry, a thousand thoughts tumbles around her mind. Tears of relief and understand spring to her eyes. But they aren't out of the woods yet. There's no telling if Keijen will leave the room or take her with them. She wishes she had a way to speak to the girl without anyone else hearing. She wants to say that they'll do whatever they can, that they'll protect her and show her so many people who will accept her exactly as she is.

But for now, all the can is hold still and hope.]

Exhaustion. [ he repeats the word skeptically but doesn't press the issue. ] Well. I hop you are not too exhausted to come along now.

[ to her credit, nadia pulls herself together quickly under his gaze (bluff 25), wrenching her eyes pointedly away from the spot where the girls huddle, and dropping all the nerves evinced moments before. ]

You'll keep your word?

[ he slides a hand across her lower back, steering her towards the door ] But of course.

You'll never feel alone again, Alys.

[witchwoman]

[As Keijen touches the girl, Myri has the bite down on her tongue and squeeze Kat's hand to keep from lunging out at the man. She gives her teammate a desperate look, wondering if they should do something, but not wanting to move on impulse and blow their cover if Kat was not on board with that.]

[ unfortunately... kat's invisible, and myri can no more see her than she can catch myri's look. it's impossible to tell what she's thinking right now... or when nadia lifts her chin high and heads out the door without another word, or a single look back.

keijen exits behind her, pausing with one hand on the door frame for a moment. they can see his smirk in profile as he lingers there... and then he's gone, the door falling shut behind them. ]

[ after a beat, the invisibility vanishes, and kat slams a hand against the wall ] Motherfucker!

[witchwoman]

[WHOOPS. For some reason, I assumed they could see each other. NEVERMIND.

As the spell falls away and Kat's hand strikes the wall, Myri jumps, but her eyes don't leave the door.]

We have to find her. [Her voice is so quiet in comparison to her colleague's, but steady and determined. She had gotten through to Nadia... hadn't she? Why else would she have let them stay hidden?] I won't let them hurt her.

[shootfirst]

Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go blow their heads off and grab her! [ she starts towards the door, gun raised ]
