[ The Durere concert hall is absolutely packed when they make their way into the back after buying their tickets. Most of the people here have crowded the stage, although a few are parked at back tables with drinks casually procured from the bar. It's smoky and dingy and small, and the concert goers are arrayed in a variety of goth-looking ensembles: a sea of black and funky hair styles and piercings stretches out in front of them. The Knights look so abysmally out of place, it's almost funny. ]

[Myri only recently learned how to dress for this century, so asking her to know about goth fashion is just out of the question. She glances at a few of the more heavily pierced attendants and looks to Kat and Mark.]

Anyone else feel ill dressed?

[ mark squishes closer to the girls as a guy walks past with a giant spike rammed through his nose ] Or a little... actually ill?

[Myri is just... baffled by the metal these people have stuck into their faces. She keeps her voice low.]

What sort of music is this again?

I thought Gar said 'rock band' but that can mean a lot of -- [ and then the lights drop out and kat's words are buried beneath a wave of intense screaming. for a group of people who look like they're all trying really hard to come off as apathetic and jaded, they sure can make a lot of fanatic noise.

the music starts up as dark figures make their way up onto the stage amid more screaming. it's a slow build up from quiet at first, with the eerie sound of a childlike chorus, as they settle into their places on the stage. ]

[ ♬ survive - lacuna coil

and abruptly the music plunges headlong into a gothic metalsplosion, the audience suddenly a wave of head banging along as the lights slam up, revealing a group garbed almost entirely in black: four instrumentalists and a male and female front singer. the man has long stringy hair and a goatee, and is far from being conventionally attractive with his long nose and sunken eyes, but the woman is stunning. with olive skin, raven black hair, strong but distinctly feminine features, and a killer body, it's easy to see why there's such a large male audience here.

not to mention her voice. she belts out the lyrics, alternating with her partner, but it's her voice that possesses an almost hypnotic quality. in fact, a will save under 14 means the listener really does feel a bizarre other-worldly draw to her, as if she's abruptly the only thing in the room that matters.

mark, for example, looks utterly agape over there. kat seems unaffected, scanning the crowd and frowning. ]

[Myri's will save of 15 barely keeps her head afloat for this one, but she's keeping her wits about her for now. Sadly, she doesn't think much of Mark's dazed look and focuses on Kat's expression. She slides closer since the noise has definitely put a damper on most conversation.]

Something wrong?

[ she turns to myri so that she can answer by yelling in her ear, the only method of communication at a metal concert that doesn't involve hilarious pantomiming... ] Making sure we don't see any "familiar" faces! [ airquotes ]

[Myri just nods, then does a glance around of her own (spot 24). The noise is just starting to give her a headache. She was spoiled by her last concert being Rafael's. At least there, the music had been... nice.]

as myri scans the crowd, she'd notice that there are, in fact, two very familiar faces out there, seated at a table on the opposite side of the room.

decker greenwall, one of chad's compatriots, and keijen blade, along with what looks like a couple of bodyguards. decker's wearing a gray suit and shades inside here, looking even more out of place than the knights do, and keijen's rocking leather pants and a jacket open to expose his bare light gray, well-muscled chest, looking as if he could basically live here. they're both absorbed in the show, although the way keijen is watching the singer is almost predatory, a devious smile playing at the corner of his lips as he toys with the rim of his glass.

the band launches into a second song, and kat seems to have looked right past decker and keijen, while mark remains uselessly slack-jawed, a dumb smile on his face. ]

[Myri tries to get Mark's attention, but he's pretty much gone, so she grabs Kat's arm to get her attention and points out the table that she's scoped out. She's a tad intimidated by the look Keijen is giving the girl on stage, but she steels herself for whatever comes next.

At least they know that they aren't alone.]

[ kat follows myri's gaze and her eyes light on the two, widening a bit as her mouth sets in a grim line. she reaches out and punches mark hard in the arm to get his attention (really fucking hard, actually. that'll leave a bruise) but he merely absently rubs at the spot, still staring at the stage. only then does she seem to see what's going on with him and she snaps her fingers in front of his nose to no avail ] What the hell is wrong with him?

the energy of the singers only seems to kick it up a notch as they launch into another number, and by now a large part of that audience has that glazed-eye look that mark's sharing in. nadia doesn't appear to pay this any mind for whatever reason, completely throwing herself into the song, looking as if she's pouring her heart into the performance. ]

[Myri turns her attention from the dangerous men to her own teammate. Mark's expression is a little odd, but maybe just likes the show?

...Except when Kat punches him and he doesn't even flinch. She steps closer and puts a hand on his shoulder, shaking him.]

Mark? Mark, can you hear me?

[ he blinks a tiny bit and sort of mutters a: ] Huh, wha? [ but he's notably trying to look over her head to keep staring at the stage ]

[ kat scoops up a flier and rolls it up, THWACKing mark in the back of the head so hard it's audible over the concert noise (atk 21, dmg... 9). ] We're on a mission, dumbass! Pay attention!

[Myri jumps at the sound of impact from Kat's smack. Her eyes go wide and she scans the room to see if they've gathered too much attention. Hurriedly, she turns to both of her friends and puts a hand on each of them. She doesn't want to shout, lest she call even more attention to their little group, so here's hoping she can bring some silent sense to these two.]

kat's violent display actually did draw some attention from those gathered nearby, including a security guard who's keeping an eye on them now. but it's pretty clear that she and mark aren't starting a real fight, so he doesn't look overly concerned. meanwhile, nadia launches into another song, and keijen and decker continue to look wrapped up in watching and talking quietly: not noticing the knights at all. ]

[ meanwhile, mark's absently rubbing the back of his head and frowning, saying petulantly: ] I am paying attention. She's the reason we're here, isn't she? [ and his eyes still don't leave the stage, much to kat's further annoyance ]

I've got a bad feeling about this. [She directs to Kat.]

I don't know what's going on, but I'm definitely not big on it. [ she frowns more deeply and finds stands up, yanking on mark's sleeve to drag him with ] C'mon. I think we better get to her before those guys do, which means we should be waiting for her backstage.

[Once she's sure that Mark is coming along, Myri follows as well. She's not sure what they plan to do if they find themselves face to face with their adversaries, but their combined skill sets could surely get them out of any situation.

At least that's the goal.]

Just follow my lead, ok? [ she pushes through the few crowded patrons around the edge of the room, aiming for the backstage door. ]

[Myri doesn't like not knowing the plan, but she trusts Kat with her life and knows she can get them out of... m o s t ... situations. She keeps up, just a few steps behind, trying to blend in as much as possible.]

[ as they reach the door, a guard steps in front of them, and kat digs into her pocket to pull out a business card and whispers under her breath: ] Identificus. [ the card surface shimmers and turns into a BACKSTAGE PASS complete with her photo on it. she flashes it with a shrug and points behind her ]

They're with me. [ the guard examines it for a few moments, then looks up at myri and mark, before jerking a thumb over his shoulder, not bothering to talk above the roar. kat grins and pushes the door open, and they head into the backstage hall. ]

[Myri is once again impressed by Kat's skillz at getting them places that they didn't belong. Once backstage, she breathes a little easier, because they've done this before... in Italy. Except it ended in gunfire at Rafael's place, but whatever.]

How long until the shot is over? [Because they can't exactly talk to anyone until then.]
