[He shrugs and gestures at the cabinets.] I'll get more blood.

[With a supremely beautiful nat 20 wisdom, Vi remembers the recipe by heart. Like, really, that's what the veil leaves behind? Hot sauce? And she manages to find everything in the cabinets and the fridge so she sets to making it, mixing everything in a sauce pan on the stove.]

So is blood an everyday thing for you? [Not that she's judging. Just curious.]

Yeah. It's a vampire thing. [He watches curiously because he's never seen hot sauce being made THAT HE REMEMBERS.]

Huh. That's cool, my first vampire.

[Yes, good, watch closely. Because right after she chops the onions and the jalapeno pepper into the pan (dex 14), she rubs at her eyes, which were watering from the onions.

Without washing her hands. (Int 4) Wait for it...]

[Spike notices (spot 19) but considering his knowledge (plants that fuck your shit up) check sucks (4), he doesn't move to stop her or anything, instead going to sniff at the hot sauce as it cooks.]

[She pokes at the pan with her spoon, wincing slightly. Why do her eyes suddenly sting? Maybe it's just the onions, stupid onions.

Poke poke. Wince. Sting sting. Ow, no, this is really starting to hurt. She lifts her hand to rub at her eyes again, except...]

Oh... no.

[And then, like a toddler noticing her scraped knee is bleeding, the heels of her hands press to her eyes and she whimpers pitifully.] Oh, okay, that is actual burning pain. Ow. Oh my god.

[bigbad]

[Spike is not taking her pain seriously just yet.]

That hot, huh? Can't wait to taste it.

[But okay, that's probably... not good. He steps in, frowning.]

Should I get one of the clerics?

[She can't even say that, yes, it's hot, it's going to be delicious, because blinding eye pain is surprisingly all encompassing and all she can get out is:] Please.

[And then she just sits down against the oven because standing is just so overrated and the floor is so nice and cool.]

[And off he rushes to find the nearest cleric!]

[Myri just happens to be the closest cleric, which is fortunate for Spike, because she would have stopped to say hello anyway, even if he wasn't rushing around like a crazy person. Her smile at noticing him quickly drops.]

Spike? Spike! What's wrong?

[bigbad]

Myri! Bloody brilliant. [He grabs her hand and starts pulling her towards the kitchen.] This girl was making me hot sauce and she... burned her eyes out or something.

[witchwoman]

[Myri's heard of worse injuries, but this is certainly the most creative way to harm yourself that she's seen since coming to the Knights. She follows along, jogging lightly to keep up.]

How did she-?

[bigbad]

[Wisdom check 9 means he's got no clue. He shrugs.]

No clue. She was find one moment, then... [He mimes eyeballs exploding.]

[witchwoman]

[Myri's eyes widen and she picks up her pace.]

We must hurry!

[bigbad]

[AND THEN THEY MAKE IT TO THE KITCHEN Spike hurries over to Vi's side.]

I brought Myri. She's bloody brilliant.

[She'd managed to grab a dish cloth and press that to her eyes instead of her pepper stained hands because it was probably counter productive to keep touching her face.

She looks up, but she can't manage to open her eyes, because that it the most painful part. Her eyes that are all red and pink and tender looking. Her pain tolerance is usually high, but now she can totally see the use of pepper spray.

It's super effective.]

'kay.

[witchwoman]

[Once the girl is in sight, Myri drops Spike's hand and rushes forward. Already, she can feel the pain resonating from the poor girl.] Spike, turn off the lights, please. Leave the one on at the far end...

[Her hands gently remove the cloth so that she can get a better look at what she's dealing with.]

Oh, you poor thing... Try to be still, alright?

[bigbad]

[Spike hurries to obey and shut off the lights, then moves forward again to hover over the two of them.]

As a statue, got it.

[And she does just that, trying to keep perfectly still.]

[witchwoman]

[Myri place a hand over the girl's eyes, her longer and slender fingers slightly cool to the touch. She's gentle and careful to keep her pressure as light as possible. Her eyes close slowly and she breathes evenly, seeking the Void to reach her gift. The blackness engulfs her and she follows her own cord of life, crystal and purple in color, down into the Void. Her gift searches out for Violet's lifeline. A cord pulses in the Void, shades of green interwoven organically. In the midst of it, a spot of vivid red is seared into the cord. She reaches out carefully and draws the red slowly out of the green, pulling it back, little by little. Thankfully, the pain is small (comparatively, anyway) and in a localized area, so it's not long before Myri has pulled it out completely.

She untangles herself from the green cord and follows her life cord back up and out of the Void. As her eyes open, she pulls her hand back away from the girl's face.]

How do you feel?

[She says it a little like she's confused by it. She's used to ambrosia which feels like being dipped in a hot tub after being in the snow, all hot and fevery because it was close to killing her. (Oops.) She didn't have much time to get used to Risa's healing because it was a little wham, bam, thank you, ma'am.

She does feel better, the pain is gone. But now she feels like a schmuck. Which is just super.]

Yes. Good, thanks. [She should get up, but she's embarrassed. She does really need to wash her hands though.] Really, thank you.

[To Spike, she adds:] You too, thanks. Can you stir the hot sauce so it doesn't burn?

[Priorities.]

Sure, pet. [Because it's... his hot sauce. And he's really glad she's as invested in it as he is. He goes over to stir it and glances over at Myri with a smile.]

Bloody amazing, as always.

[witchwoman]

I'm happy to help. [Thankfully, the work was small, so she doesn't feel too dizzy or weak. Still, she does have the urge to sit, so she makes herself comfortable and looks at the pot.]

So what is you're making? [Spike probably mentioned it but she was more concerned with the healing.]

[Violet doesn't feel like moving, so she doesn't. Although hand-washing is a thing she should do, still. ...In a minute.]

Hot sauce for Spike's blood. Because he thought the stuff in the bottle was good.

[She makes a face. He thought wrong, okay? Very wrong.]
