Ah, my dear Watson. But that scar is on both the front and the back. Hence the snapping jaws of a shark theory. Or I was, impaled? Which, kudos for awesome.

I suppose you're right. I'll admit that I might have been mistaken. [ he doesn't sound very convinced that he was wrong tho :| ]

[Scoff.] Mhmm. You know, you sound pretty sure. I mean, for someone who has seen it once. From, just, way over there.

I spend a lot of my time dealing with monsters. I know how to spot a creature bite from quite a distance.

That is a skill you don't hear of often. [Shrug. The world may never know why Violet has her scar, but if it did, she'd sure like to be let in on the secret.] I'm still going with shark bite under the auspice that not everyone has your fierce eyesight.

You need not worry. I don't plan to share the observation.

Thanks. I think you might be the second nicest person I've ever met.

[Which either says she attracts crummy people or Charming and Luthir are just seriously nice to her. The latter probably.]

I consider conflict to be my career, but in my personal dealings, I strive to avoid it.

I dunno, isn't there something to be said about passionate relationships? [Not like she knows, but Cosmo tells her this.] Or something.

[But why even... She turns to a plant, plants are easy, and crouches down, slowly coaxing life from it.] Conflict free is probably a pretty good motto.

Humans and elves have always treated their passions quite differently, but it doesn't mean we don't have them.

I suppose if your lifespan near triples that of a human, your passions run more... long term?

[luthir]

If they didn't, we would be a very fickle race indeed. Our passions would burn out in a few short decades, and change so often that we'd lose sight of what we truly care for.

[graveflowers]

Really really old, really really fickle, no idea what they want... [Snort.] You just summed up the entire Greek and Roman pantheon.

It seems that would be a ... trying existence. From my perspective at least. But I suppose I am only mortal.

Probably only trying to the ones who are stuck dealing with them. I doubt the gods themselves think it's trying, but then again, they haven't changed in over three thousand years so maybe they like it.

[She snorts out a laugh, so lady like, and straights up again, pleased with the happy little plant. If it were a tree, Bob Ross would be proud.] I didn't mean to make them sound horrible.

[She just misses her mom, okay? Even if she is judgmental and nitpicky and flighty as all get out.]

I wouldn't dare to presume.

[ he almost - almost - hesitates ] Are those your gods?

[graveflowers]

I don't know. [She doesn't seem bothered by it, the not knowing.] I mean, faith. Faith is believing without proof, but I have proof so, it sort of precludes faith. There's no... religion surrounding it, I don't pray. I know I can ask my mom for help, but that's not really the same as praying to some mystical higher being.

But. [She shrugs.] No one else here seems to know them, so if I'm all they've got in this world, I guess I have to claim them.

I don't know if I'd agree that knowing entirely precludes faith. In Faerun, the gods have more influence on the actions of mortal lives. It's impossible to deny their existence. I don't think that takes away from the strength of their worshipers' faith.

[graveflowers]

Maybe I'm too close then. Because I don't worship my mom, I barely listen to her. And the other gods are sort of less familiar but I still don't think I worship them. I don't think I worship anything.

[She believes in higher powers but she doesn't venerate them. In all honesty, she has no clue.] Well, no, that's a lie. I probably worship Pan, but he's dead.

I've never met anyone so directly descended from the gods.

[She winces a little, playing with a thread at the edge of her shirt.]

What? No. No, don't be honored by that. What is honorable about that? Seriously.

I mean, honored to meet me because I'm super adorable and can totally give Robin Hood a run for his money? That's cool. Because once every few hundred years my mom cheats on her husband? Less so.

I didn't mean to offend you. I merely wished to express my respect for your heritage.

That doesn't make sense to me. I mean-- [She rubs her face.] --The sentence makes sense to me, but the idea behind it doesn't.

What if I was a serial killer? Would it still have the same respect?
