Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Buffy's invitees are given seats of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Hide members - the largest sect in the castle, with the most representatives here, and Jack, Wynn, and Dovan wait up at the front of the room for Buffy to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides.

Wynn finally gets things rolling, by saying in his loud listen-to-me voice: "Approach and kneel, Sir Buffy Summers."

It's no trouble. I'd hate to miss a teammate's knighting ceremony. It feels like we've been working together for ages, doesn't it?

Split up, I guess. I mean, at this point, I'm starting to wonder if it's ever gonna be. But ... Wynn would put us where he could use us. Which wouldn't necessarily be together.

I think I'll miss it. It's not -- I've never spent so much time with so many people before.

[which is his special way of saying he didn't really have friends at home -- that he can remember, anyway.]

I know what you mean. Still. Might be a breath of fresh air, not spending every waking moment in such close quarters with the same people. It's not like we'll lose touch.

I don't know. I mean, moving back in from hotel rooms is even weird, because the castle still doesn't feel home-y. But hotel rooms aren't home, either. You've got a real one. I guess it just sounds ... hard.
