♬ blood - my chemical romance
WHO || Rose, Dimitri, Amrita, Lila, Aurelius, Tia, and Eric [closed]
WHAT || Investigating the crime scenes
WHERE || The alleys of Chicago, IL
WHEN || April 5th [ backdated ]
HOW || Actionspam
The Knights split up, Tia taking Rose, Dimitri, and Amrita in the rented vehicle towards two of the more distant sites from the hotel, while Eric leads Aurelius and Lila through the back alleys of the city to somewhere nearby. It's late by now, and Chicago is alive with the sights and sounds of nighttime in the distance. A light rain falls, dripping off the overhangs of the roofs above and pooling against the sidewalks.

Come on, you can't babysit me out here. [Look, they pretty much fit the bill for bodyguards, she works with what she has.]
no subject
Let's be real, it's not far off at all.]
no subject
She hesitates only half a second before following his lead, forced to commit to the plan whether she likes it or not.]

But she does catch the scream, pausing behind Dean. (Listen 17) She would.] Mmm, sounds like home.
no subject
It's probably a good thing that Dimitri doesn't hear the screaming (Listen 12), or it would have taken a lot of self control not to go looking for the source.]
no subject
and not because she had missed him or anything.]You're being quiet. [Voice pitched low as she fell into step with him, (Sense Motive 19 cause she still isn't sure how much she can trust him).]

[ meanwhile, davin, trailing along in back, waits for the others to outpace them a few before giving rose a withering look.
"Maybe because I'm not sure what's left to say now that you've got us all marching to our deaths. Maybe it's better this way." ]

no subject
[Because that's the last thing they need to be doing right now.]

[Her reaction a kneejerk one, Rose silent for a moment as she turned over the rest of his words.]
Do you mean that? Better dead than... that.

"Just because all my instincts scream to survive doesn't mean I think this is better in any way. That's why I'd never make another. Vampire." he sneers at the word, and ahead, a ponderous metal door at the end is shoved open by another of those minotaurs. a sleek, dangerously beautiful drow woman emerges, dressed in a floor length purple dress with a plunging neckline, web-like black patterns up the side. she wears a tiny smile at the corner of her lips, but her eyes are all cruelty as they slip across each of them while she slinks past. dean's head turns almost involuntarily to watch her go, and davin slides against the wall, obviously eager not to let her touch him as she brushes by imperiously. ]

Although whose plan was it to send three inexperienced squires and a surly hunter to do this? Lila's not taking the blame for that, okay. Hopefully Eric and Tia don't get fired when they all inevitably die...
She blinks, turning back to glance at the Minotaur at the door, clearing her throat slightly to address him. (Bluff 32) ] Koshchey, party of four. [ A beat. ] And one of yours.
no subject
Not that that is hard. It's not so different from being a Guardian, really. He'll get involved when and if he needs to.]
no subject
Her eyes briefly glide to Dimitri's as if she were passing a silent message then like him, she played the role of bodyguard until their admittedly flimsy cover was blown. Rose suspected, somewhere around the time they got to see the man behind the curtain, assuming they got that far.]

this largely bare warehouse room has one of the tables from the restaurant sitting there, a meal spread out on top of the checkered tablecloth. seated there, flanked by two men in sunglasses and suits, is a rather horrific figure in a pinstripe suit of his own. while his body is humanoid, he sports a disturbing octopus-like head, from which hang four tentacles. his eyes are a pale, milky white, void of pupils, his skin a grayish blue that looks covered in a thin veneer of slime.
he holds a fork and knife in either hand, and is placidly sawing off a tiny sliver of the main course. he lifts the slice up, and his tentacles shift aside to reveal a horrific lamprey-like mouth, but he notices the others shuffling in and lowers his fork, tentacles twitch as he lets out an obvious sigh of annoyance.
dean pauses a few steps in, and pulls a face. ] ... Sorta just made me lose my appetite for those cinnamon sticks.
[ the mind flayer looks them over with its rolling, weird white eyes that makes it hard to tell exactly who he's examining at any moment in time.
"Always at dinner time." ]
no subject
I wasn't gonna share. [ growing a pair, she lets go of dean and moves to take a deliberate step forward. ] Sorry. I hope you had that checked for mad cow disease.
no subject
Still, he has to play just the bodyguard until the time is right, so he takes a moment to flick his eyes around, looking for any other possible dangers. (spot 14)]
no subject
Bingo.
Well. Nobody said Rose's messages were supposed to be very descriptive.
Still, like Dimitri, she's not going to make any moves until an immediate danger presents itself; staying silent at the back even if it kills her.]
no subject
"I'm a very busy man. For your own good, you might wish to make this quick." ]
no subject
[ SHE MEANS BRAINS, YO. (bluff 36, diplomacy 30) ] All we need is a little information on where to find this murderer who is running around town leaving little messes for your pets to clean up. [ her hand waves over her shoulder at where davin is, or is not, she doesn't care enough to pay attention. ] He's mine and I'd really like him back before he gets himself killed by the metric shit tonne of hunters taking up residence in your fair city.
no subject
"You claim ownership of this monster, and yet can't keep him on a leash? Tsk." ]
no subject
I claim ownership of a cat, too, doesn't take well to a leash. I prefer a non-slavery approach to my monsters, makes them much more relaxed. Paid vacation time and comprehensive health insurance. And dental. We even pay into their retirement fund.
no subject
"I think you're mistaken, then. I don't have the creature. If I did, you certainly wouldn't be getting him back." ]
no subject
Oh well. Terribly sorry to have interrupted dinner. You should really look into getting some better help. Mike, Mitchell, whatever, he should know better than to schedule meetings while you're eating. Your waiter though, Tony? Definitely deserves a raise.
