The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

DRESSING ROOMS [menfolk]

[Welp, boys, here's your first chance to be alone and manly together and meet your fellow male squires without... being in front of hundreds of people together. Small talk, get pretty, whatever you need to do. There are racks and racks of suits and tuxes in here, including many tailor fit to your size. :')

And hair gel. Lots of hair gel.]

[Ruvaen is giving the suits a skeptical look. He isn't particularly comfortable with opulence in general. A nice tunic and a pair of pants would have suited him just fine. The suit jacket he picks out does fit him, once he puts it on the right way at least, but he's wearing it over his tattered old turtleneck and pants. (Disguise 8)

The shoes he has on aren't very impressive either and he forgot to button the middle button of the jacket. Seriously, someone else should just take over for him. ]

[Oh my god, Ruvaen, what are you doing. With a shake of his head and a short laugh, Alec goes right up to the cleric. He doesn't even bother to ask before he's fixing the buttons and patting the wrinkles off his shoulders.]

You sure you wouldn't be more comfortable in a different shirt?

[Seriously. Who wears a turtleneck sweater under a suit jacket. Look at your choices.]

[He sounds genuinely confused as he looks down at himself a moment and back to Alec. He has never had any reason to care about the way he dresses. Clothing was there to keep some of the weather out and for modesty purposes. 'Dressing up' isn't something he ever worries about.]

It is very comfortable.

Yeah, okay, sure. If you're comfortable, you're comfortable, right?

[Alec gives an easy-going shrug and a cheerful grin. Who is he to stop the guy if he wants to embrace his unique fashion sense. Let him do as he pleases. At least now he's properly buttoned up.

For his own part, Alec fixes his tie and checks his hair in the mirror. Looking just as good as it always does.]

[Klaus can be found in the dressing room perusing the many suits that had been custom tailored, though he doesn't appear particularly interested in any of them. Ultimately, he will decide against dressing up altogether but for now he's at least considering his options.]

[Apparently Alaric had decided to start the party early this evening. He hadn't made it out of the dressing room and he was already drinking. More than likely, he was celebrating the fact that he didn't have to wear that armor anymore. Cheers.]

[After damned near a month of all this knightly how-do-you-do Phineas is ready to burst. If it weren't for the opportunity for some free drink, he'd have skipped this night entirely. His studies are far too busy to warrant these types of outings, anyway... were it not for his weakness of both drink, and women. Even a half-assed attempt at looking good pans out with a big of magic, and he struts out of the dressing room with a solid 20 disguise check in a striking red suit ]
