The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Well, fuck. Retreat aborted, not that he expected that to actually go smoothly. He forces a smile, rubbing his shoulder a bit to cover the fact that he had been about a half second from bolting. It's nearly impossible to get any sort of read on Wynn and it unsettles Alec like crazy. Surely he can get through four words without falling on his face a third time, can't he?]

I..uh. Yeah. Yes sir. I am. It's nice. Kind of fancy for what I'm used to, but nice.

[Oh good. More of these. At least this is giving him the time to shake the confusing and unfamiliar uncertainties that keep striking him around Wynn. Pull himself back together.]

Of course. I am certain other such events will prove to go much more smoothly.

[Because this was one of those everything that can go wrong instances. At least it only happened around Wynn. On the other hand. Why did it have to be Wynn he tripped over his own self around?]

I'm usually much more together than ah... well... parts of this night have been.

The festivities surrounding the ceremony can be a bit overwhelming. You shouldn't feel discomforted if they throw you off.

[Alec relaxes a little more, watching Wynn with his hands behind his back to keep from sticking them in his pockets again. That's actually... a really nice thing to say and it leaves him a little unsure. Why are you so hard to read.]
