The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Not any more than this place is.

So why'd you leave? [A beat.] Oh, do they not exist in this universe?

[Her mouth opens, ready to insist that she didn't, when he answers it for her. Her mouth closes and she just nods instead.]

At least, I don't think they do. And this place...it's not like mine.

[bigbad]

It's not like most people's places. And yet, doesn't feel all that strange to me. [Spike shrugs. He doesn't remember much from his world. Except Passions.]

Most of it is the same, I think. The countries, the languages, the cities.

[Her eyes drift around the room to those who are more obviously non-human.]

But there are some big differences too.

[He follows her gaze.] Really? There was no magic in your world?

[celerystick]

No, there is. [The thought of magic makes her fidgety.] But only Moroi are capable magic.

[Because they were unnatural. People weren't supposed to be able to toy with the rules of nature like that, but Moroi weren't people. Not entirely.]

[bigbad]

[...he looks blank.]

That some sort of witch?

[Sydney shakes her head, looking a little surprised.]

No, not at all. Moroi are...vampires.

[She's used to not being able to talk about it.]

Really? Never heard that term before. Do you know any?

I'm sure I did, at one time. My organization dealt with them frequently, at least.

[Though they would have stayed far far away if possible.]

So you know a lot about us.

[celerystick]

[Her hearts stalls in her chest, and she visibly swallows as panic rises inside her. Her attempt to hide it is only moderately successful. (bluff - 13)]

Us? You mean you're...but you don't look anything like one.

[bigbad]

[His sense motive came up 13, so he really can't tell anything for sure.]

Well, not now. It's not like I wander about with my vampire face out. I look bloody awful that way.

[Okay, time to fight down more anxiety. Holy crap.]

[The vampires of her world have fangs all the time. Being able to hide them is...so much worse. She could be surrounded by them!]
