The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Good, cause Dawn can never take them, but good at giving them. ] I wouldn't say it's nefarious. It's... mischievous, at the most. It's good to use our powers for good and not evil.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure evil is frowned upon in these here hallowed halls.

It would kinda go against the oath I just spoke, right? Well, that's settled. Evil out. Mischief, however, is still on the table.

I kind of love you. Which, don't worry, I often make declarations of love on first meetings. [Luthir, Risa, Charming, Felicity, she might have told Myri that she loved her...]

Hasn't actually worked out for me yet though. [No Luthir. She's a sad panda about this, okay?]

Well, if at first you don't succeed. [ She waves a hand, indicating yadda yadda yadda. ] Unless it's skydiving, cause then you're just dead.

I dunno, I bet someone survived that at least once. I mean... Someone has to have. Right? They're probably in one of those Ripley's Beileve It or Not books. ...I always believed it...

Yeah, but can you imagine surviving a failed skydive? Probably all broken and mangled and... [ Shudders. ] A lifetime of ow.

[Vi adopts a mock shudder.] You know when a dude gets hit in the nuts and all the guys around him clutch their manly bits close? I think I just did that with all my squishy internal organs.

That's a lot of squishy there. [ Shakes her head. ] I don't think I'm gonna try the skydiving thing. Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

I would do it. ...but there isn't actually much I wouldn't do.

You are a braver soul than I am. I think I'd rather face some majorly evil baddie than skydive.

It's not really bravery? More like a complete lack of self-control and oooh, that looks exciting! [The whole not living past thirty in her world so she tries to live life to the fullest is probably a conversation for a day that isn't... the first day they've met.] Plus then I can say I've done it.

[ She laughs nervously, but nods. ] I can kinda understand that. Only so much time left in our lives and it's going by each second whether we use it well or not.

Yep, pretty much it. I don't like to miss things if I don't have to.

So what's probably the craziest thing you've done so far?

[What does it say that she has to really think about it? Probably a lot. She does a lot of crazy stuff.]

Um, well I used myself as bait and almost got smushed by a train? Or I punched a dragon, those are the big ones.

[ What does it say? It says AWESOME. ]

Was that here with the Knights or like back home? We didn't have dragons where I'm from, if limited memory serves.

Both? The dragon was from home and the near death by train was here -- how I ran into these bitches actually. [She waves a hand around as if to indicated these bitches are the Knights.]

Exciting. And pee-your-pants terrifying. Trains are -- [ There's something. A memory with a train just out of her reach and it just... it's not there. ] Trains are a good way to nearly get yourself killed.

Well, that was kind of the point. Not the me dying part, I'm fond of being alive, it helps in my great white whale getting endeavors. The train was the closest monster smashing object I had laying around.

[ And there's realization. ] Monster smashing. Totally get it now.

Oh yeah, I totally don't just almost dive into trains for fun, that would be super bad for my health. Definitely just reserved for making monster smoothies.
