The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I don't wanna try to hurt your feelings. [ It's an absolutely sincere statement. Knowing her luck, Dawn would stumble upon the one sore spot. ] I'd rather spend my time getting to know you.

I'm Dawn. [ She offers her hand, for a handshake, because that's what people do in situations like these, right? ] It's lovely to meet you, Kyla.

Usually I'm not too fond of the dawn unless I'm seeing it from the wrong end if you know what I mean. But you might tempt me to change my opinion.

[ So what if the poor girl has probably heard more dawn jokes than she could ever wish for, Kyla saw and opening and had to take it. ]

[ In the month she's been in this world, the month she remembers, she can't say she's heard too many 'dawn' jokes. So this one gets her to crack a smile. ] I know what you mean. But? I'm not even sure I have a wrong end, so you're at least safe there.

Seems to me like you would be lovely from any angle, so I'm inclined to agree with you.

[ Flattery gets you everywhere, Kyla. Again, she blushes and ducks her head. ] Well, thank you. Kyla is--it's a beautiful name. Where are you from, if I can ask?

[cadhla]

You can ask, but I can't really give a very good answer. [ She shrugs a little. ] I don't remember much... though I'm not so sure I had a very firm idea about it even before I came through the veil.

You, too, huh? [ Veil memory loss. She can so empathize. ] Can you imagine if you couldn't even remember your name when you came through?

I imagine I'd make one up. I have this feeling that it's what I did with the one I have.
