The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Hey, it's partially true. The coat did help him blend in. He just... didn't give it back after that.

Spike scoffs.] Not hardly. This was the only decent thing he was wearing.

[That draws a laugh from Alec and he gives a short snort, shaking his head.]

Well, no accounting for some people's taste. You should see the bloke I ran into in the dressing room. Suit jacket over a turtleneck and the colors were all wrong.

[He shakes his head and shrugs, grin back again.]

So. Spike. There something I'm supposed to do about this whole knight-squire thing? I might have missed the memo.

Pretty sure I'm supposed to do most of the work. I'll give you an orientation of sorts, get you used to the place, do any training I can, if you need it, and keep you from getting killed on missions.

I'm a big fan of that last bit. That sounds like a major plus. Well, I'm guessing after-parties aren't the time for orientation, but I'm looking forward to finding out more about all this.

Until we get around to it, though... Any rules on personal exploration of the castle? Am I going to get my hand cut off if I open the wrong doors?

You might. Some of the elder knights get cranky when they're disturbed.
