The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I thought it was quite successful, myself. [ he smoothly gestures to the dapper suited man, who extends a hand. ] Sir Jack Chessing.

[He meets the handshake] I do believe I've heard your name murmured about, sir Chessing. I'm sure you've not heard mine - yet - but I aim remedy that, given time.

[Phineas can't help but wonder what he's missed if someone falling flat on their face, and another reciting the entirely wrong oath qualifies as 'quite successful.' Actually, he feels as though he's missed something greatly entertaining.]

And, I suppose that would make you... [He looks over at the other imposing figure, attempting to retain some semblance of poise] Sir Bancroft? [He extends a hand to him, in greeting]

[bancroft]

[ whereas sir chessing offers a smooth, crisp, officious shake, sir bancroft clasps one hand in phineas and uses his other to grab his arm and give it a vigorous joggle, followed up by an unceremoniously hard slap on the back. ]

Ha, ha! I like this one's spirit. High aspirations. Hope you live up to them!

[thesleeper]

[He nearly drops his drink when Bancroft claps him on the back]

Well that makes two of us!

[He raises his drink.] Cheers! To... delusions of grandeur! [He says, jokingly]

[bancroft]

Oh, I have no delusions, but I'll drink to them anyway. [ he raises his glass in a toast ]

Well that's fortunate then!
[He drains his glass in one gulp]
I've enough for the lot of us. [He says with an impish grin]

[ jack raises his glass more politely as thomas downs his ] You're a ... spellcaster, aren't you?

I prefer to say magic-user, personally - but yes, something of the sort. Why do you ask?

Thomas and I try to make a point to know what we can of our fellow knights' skills, should we work with you in the field.

[He pauses, stricken dumb by the blunt clarity of the response, and the sense of how stupid it made his question sound]

O... oh. Right. Well, of course. Hah. I suppose that makes sense.

Not to mention it makes for good party conversation.

What do the pair of you do when you're not attending ceremonies and parties? I've heard you've undertaken some rather spectacular missions...

Anything that requires a more individual touch, usually. Most missions are comprised of a small or large group of Knights. Thomas and I focus on specialized missions - usually infiltration or diplomacy.

Lone missions, eh? Sounds rather dangerous, based on the little bit I've been told about what can slip through the veil.

[Probably best to suck-up to the badasses just a bit, he decided]
