after-party ♔ may

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (brazil & nevada groups will be returned! if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || May 1st, 2013, 6:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[It was an idea, anyway. Klaus obviously hadn't been all that impressed with the gathering.]
I don't suppose you'd mind a bit of company while you're at it?
no subject
[And there is no one to watch your back if you find something you might not necessarily need to be getting into.]
no subject
Well then, what are we waiting for?
no subject
[He sets his own glass down, more than happy to get out of the crowd for a while and go snooping around the castle. Who knows what this place has in it. It's massive.]
Shall we ditch this party?
[He gives the room another glance and heads straight for the nearest exit. He can stick his head back in later and find the pretty bard he was talking to earlier.]
no subject
[Klaus isn't far behind him, though he doesn't bother looking back. He's found nothing of interest at the party thus far. Somehow he doubts as much will change the longer he remains there.
Once they're out into the elaborately decorated corridor, Klaus notes the many doorways lining the hall--which leads to an even larger area with a staircase, which branches off into even more hallways which present even more doors.]
Now the only problem is deciding on where to begin.

[Alec grins and glances down the corridor before heading for the staircase.]
I have heard a few rumors of what all this castle holds, everything from a library and a bar to a bowling alley.
Can't imagine running out of areas to explore too quickly.
I think we should take a look upstairs. Everyone seems pretty preoccupied with their party. What better time to do some more thorough exploring?
[Sure there were probably people around, but Wynn was definitely busy with the party. Who knew how many of the knights were tied up in all that?]

Upstairs it is, then.
[And just like that, he heads down the long hallway and toward the grand staircase that would take them to the next floor.
With any luck, said bowling alley would have been located on the ground floor. Klaus was hoping to come across much more interesting areas than where these people spent their Saturday nights together.]

I'm still betting there's secret passages all over this castle. They have to have a dungeon. And an armory. Wouldn't be a proper castle without either.
[Sorry Klaus. Your new friend knows how to talk. A lot. He takes the steps with an easy, quick stride, looking down the halls when they get to the top.]
I'm sure the library is all the rage for some people but I want to see whatever it is they don't want us to see.
[Bold admittance but who doesn't want to go through the do not enter signs or up the 'employees only' steps. Or over the 'do not cross this chain' blockades. Alec's curiosity is a lot stronger than that voice in his head trying to tell him when things seem like a bad idea.]
no subject
That makes two of us then.
[Weren't they a pair. It was doubtful that they would be able to find their way into any truly restricted areas, but then it was probably best not to draw too much attention to themselves their first night in the castle as proper knights.]
Sadly, I don't think we'll have much luck locating a dungeon up here. Though I'm fairly certain there will be time enough for that later.
[Careful, Alec. Klaus may have just roped you into a second date without ever having asked permission--or even buying you dinner first.]
no subject
[Alec is already agreeing to that second date and he hasn't even asked Klaus to buy him a drink. He might be a shade on the easy side, apparently. Or just really into things that could be trouble.
There's three directions they could go but Alec picks the middle hall, paying no attention at all to the chapel. It's a dead end hall with few doors, so it seems like the best choice for the start of their exploring.]
I wonder if we could get on the roof from here.
no subject
[Klaus closes the door to the medical facility, which he'd peeked into after they moved past the chapel. Apparently they'd chosen the most boring route to take. Good call, Alec.
There was still one more door to check out in this particular hallway, though. Klaus hangs back, allowing Alec the opportunity to open the last one up.]
Shall we check and see what's behind door number three?
