It's been a long time since Team Failboat's been all together, but that doesn't mean the team members have been idle. Rafael & Finnick have been working hard to refine their show and record their albums - and if they don't pull off the show of a century, NOVA records will fall entirely into the hands of the sinister Chad Becksworth and his evil Shadow-hating cabal. In the meantime, Myri & Elena have acted as members of their ensemble to keep an eye on the villains' movement at NOVA's New Orleans Headquarters - but there's been suspiciously little to indicate that they're doing anything but gearing up for their own "Back to the Fans" tour, which will be launching concurrently in Miami on the same night of Raf & Finnick's concert in Chicago. Myri & Kat attempted to interfere with the recruitment of Nadia Reichenov by Keijen Blade and Decker Greenwall, and while Myri seemed to have made some impact on the girl, she still chose to join them, and where her allegiance lies remains unknown. The other members of the team have been intermittently set out on missions to destroy the other labs across America where Chad's scientists have been conducting hideous experiments on Shadowkind, splicing their DNA with that of humans. Gar has been hard at work in the lab, unraveling the mysteries of the mind control chip they'd created. Jack and Thomas have been probing the defenses of Andres Isle, where the Talisman is rumored to have been taken by the sinister Dimitris Sarandis, Prime Minister of the Isle and member of the dark cabal. Meanwhile, Des has been babysitting Jade after her club was destroyed by Chad's forces, so that she can join Rafael and Finnick onstage at the concert.

Now everyone is en route to Chicago, where the impending concert is tied in with the opening of the brand new Chicago skyscraper office of NOVA Records, where Burt is planning to move his end of operations, further symbolizing the growing divide between the feuding brothers. Tensions mount in these last few days as final preparations are made.

[ the woman's attention is drawn back to elena, and her eyes narrow when the door isn't fully opened to her - and also as she takes in elena's appearance. a deep frown creases her features, and her eyebrows draw together angrily. ] Who are you? [ her voice is heavily accented - a wisdom check of 15+ would trace both the spanish and italian influence. anything close to that would assume one or the other. either way, she sounds demanding and affronted by the girl's being there. ]

[Yeah, well, Elena's not really phased by that. She belongs here, and her cover is supposed to believe that too, so she's firm as she answers.]

I'm Elena. Who are you?

[She pulls the door open the rest of the way, though, so that everyone else can see her.]

[ the opened door reveals jade, sitting on the couch, and the woman stands there and stares as if she's been slapped across the face. rage swells up in her expression and she slams out a hand to keep the door from falling closed again, glaring at eterna. ] WHAT. IS. SHE DOING HERE? [ she kind of looks ready to breath fire. .___. jade looks around to her left and right, like 'Me?' ]

[Des jumps up all of a sudden, because... He's that kind of person and also because Jade keeps having people do this to her.]

She's with us. And she's kinda having a bad year, lady, so maybe you can lower the fuckin' volume a notch? It's great your voice goes to eleven, though. I'm proud.

[bigbad]

[Spike crosses his arms, coming up behind Elena and looking vaguely threatening (intimidate 18).] She asked who you are.

[savemyself]

Rafael's manager. [ she shoves past elena into the room ] And if you think for one moment I care what she's 'been through'... [ she stalks straight towards her, undaunted by the two men in her way, and jade rises at the same time, obviously confused but not about to be bullied ]

[nothingsodivine]

Easy, ladies. [Des sidles over so he's beside Jade.] No catfighting. This carpet's real shag and I don't want blood on it or we'll lose the deposit.

[ jade holds up a hand all 'stop in the name of love' at isa. ] Whoa. Angry-lady. You should probably know that as much as you seem to remember me, I have no idea who you are, so maybe you could save your breath.

You don't-- [ she sounds baffled for a moment, insulted even, but then she seems to let her brain work through the fog of rage, and remembers. she stares at jade, however, and a sharp observer might even say she looks kind of SAD?? about the realization. but no less angry. ]

It's true, then. You remember none of us.

[Elena is basically forced to back into Spike as the woman pushes past her, and she watches with concern at the exchange as it unfolds.

Everyone seems to have history with Jade, it seems.]

[He catches Elena and glares after the woman.]

If she's faking it, I'll be the first to hand her a bloody Oscar.

[ drawn by the noise, rafael wanders in... and promptly gets an 'oh shi-' expression on his face. ] ... Bella. I did not know you meant to come by.

[Spike looks over at him.]

isa sees him and immediately whirls away from jade, to turn her anger on rafael. ] Of course he knows me. [ she stalks up to him, looking ready to slap him for a second, but instead jabs a finger sharply into his chest ] How could you keep this from me? How could you be so foolish to bring that girl back into our lives an keep it a secret? [ her face contorts, an emotional mess, and his eyes widen a bit but he doesn't look surprised by the display. ] After everything she did to our lives.

[ he snatches her finger in mid-air ] What was done to her was done by us, not the other way around. [ he shoves her arm aside ] Behave, Bella, or you will not stay here.

[ she leans even closer, undaunted by his dismissal, all up in his grill ] Why am I not surprised you are choosing her over those who have always been there for you - yet again. [ he looks ready to bite back, the two of them glaring at one another as if they're the only ones in the room, while jade looks on with raised eyebrows. ]

[Des sighs and claps a hand on Rafael's shoulder.] If you're gonna argue, can you do it on the front lawn like normal people. You're harshing the zen here.

[slay]

Knew I recognized that shrieking.

[ buffy takes this opportunity to walk back in from getting food. it looks like she's legitimately considering walking right back out. ]

Good to see you, too, Isabella. In the interest of us not getting thrown out of the hotel for noise complaints, think you could maybe, I don't know, tone the indignation down a notch?

[ she looks over to buffy and narrows her eyes for a moment, obviously displeased with her presence here too ] This is between me and Rafael. I suggest you mind your own business. And I'm surprised to see you still here. I would have though Rafael would have lost interest long before now.

That's enough, Bella. [ he sounds pretty scary for a moment, and it shuts her up, unlike when everyone else yelled at her, although her chin remain hoisted in the air ] Eterna is here to help us with the concert, and I have already told you what the Knights are seeking to do here. There was nothing more to tell you. I thought you would call when you had arrived in the city.

Is Hiro here as well?

[savemyself]

[ she nods sullenly ] We rented a room not far from here. Hiro is there now.

[slay]

Maybe you should be there now. 'Cause you can say this is between you and Rafael all you want, but having it out in our living room speaks for itself, and it's singin' a different tune.

I am coming to the concert tonight, but since it appears I'm unwelcome here, I will see you there. [ she turns around sharply, dress fanning out dramatically. as she reaches the door, she looks at rafael once more and then to jade, before rolling her eyes ] She will break your heart again. Just you wait.

[ with that, she storms out and slams the door theatrically. ]
