It's been a long time since Team Failboat's been all together, but that doesn't mean the team members have been idle. Rafael & Finnick have been working hard to refine their show and record their albums - and if they don't pull off the show of a century, NOVA records will fall entirely into the hands of the sinister Chad Becksworth and his evil Shadow-hating cabal. In the meantime, Myri & Elena have acted as members of their ensemble to keep an eye on the villains' movement at NOVA's New Orleans Headquarters - but there's been suspiciously little to indicate that they're doing anything but gearing up for their own "Back to the Fans" tour, which will be launching concurrently in Miami on the same night of Raf & Finnick's concert in Chicago. Myri & Kat attempted to interfere with the recruitment of Nadia Reichenov by Keijen Blade and Decker Greenwall, and while Myri seemed to have made some impact on the girl, she still chose to join them, and where her allegiance lies remains unknown. The other members of the team have been intermittently set out on missions to destroy the other labs across America where Chad's scientists have been conducting hideous experiments on Shadowkind, splicing their DNA with that of humans. Gar has been hard at work in the lab, unraveling the mysteries of the mind control chip they'd created. Jack and Thomas have been probing the defenses of Andres Isle, where the Talisman is rumored to have been taken by the sinister Dimitris Sarandis, Prime Minister of the Isle and member of the dark cabal. Meanwhile, Des has been babysitting Jade after her club was destroyed by Chad's forces, so that she can join Rafael and Finnick onstage at the concert.

Now everyone is en route to Chicago, where the impending concert is tied in with the opening of the brand new Chicago skyscraper office of NOVA Records, where Burt is planning to move his end of operations, further symbolizing the growing divide between the feuding brothers. Tensions mount in these last few days as final preparations are made.

[ the famous miss jade actually spends... a lot of time sleeping. she's not looking too hot, really, and seems pale and listless. it's easy to catch her staring off into space on the couch for hours at a time. ]

[She's heard about Jade, but never actually met her, and she can't pretend like she isn't curious. At the same time, she's seemed ill almost, and has been hesitant to bother her.

One of the times she sees her staring off, though, she finally sits down beside her, concerned.]

[Spike's noticed the change in demeanor. He goes over to her during a staring session and sits next to her. They're not the closest people in the love polygon, but hell, if an orgy happens, they'll probably get to know each other better eventually.]

[ raf spends a lot of long hours with burt at nova's new hq, rehearsing, and when he comes home, he's supposed to take it easy on his voice. sitting still's never been his style though, so he tends to keep himself busy making meals for everyone, practicing the piano, cleaning his guns, and/or creeping on his long lost love since they're sparing living space. it was gon' happen.

[ buffy starts out researching. really, she does. it's a good effort. she's hijacked kat's computer and is using it to perform clever google searches along the lines of "demon slayer + vampires" and "slayer + monster" and "demon slayer history" (research 17). it's a step up from her initial attempts of "things that can see + kill demons", ok.

but along the way she lost her focus, as buffy is wont to do, and researching became playing solitaire, and playing solitaire became discovering new ways to fold napkins, and figuring out how well she can balance kat's laptop on her knees (not very is the answer - balance 7, but she does manage to catch it when it falls - ref 19). ]

[This is a lot of people. And Finnick is a super mega screaming fan girls and twitter feed hash tag trending pop star. That was unexpected. But there is a lot of people, which isn't entirely uncomfortable per se, and Vi doesn't know all of them so she's quietly kept to herself.

Most of the time she spends trying to beat Belle's obscenely high score at Tetris and failing repeatedly or investigating the Internet on her phone (oh, so that's what kickstarter is) or scribbling in her notebook. It's not a journal, it's just her brain on paper. In Latin.

Feel free to interrupt her at any time. Except Tetris, she will cut a bitch if you ruin her chances at this high score.]

[Elena glances back over her shoulder at the door from the couch before her eyes bounce to the other people in the room. After only that slight hesitation, she pushes up from her spot (since she's the closest) and heads for the door so that she can peer through the peep hole.]

Arrivals at the concert

[ as the car pulls up, it's easy to see what Burt was warning people about. the crowd outside the building is already a seething mass of frantic people, who try to mob the limos as they make their way slowly through the cordoned path. security guards push people back behind the red line, but there are tons of cameras flashing, and screams directed their way. it's impossible for the fans to see who's riding in which car but that doesn't stop them from assuming each one carries a star. a pair of panties hits the front window of the vehicle rafael, finnick, jade, des, myri and elena share and the driver casually turns on the wipers, pushing them back off onto the ground.

the others follow behind them in a second limo: kat, buffy, spike, gar, mark, and the squires (archer, dawn, and vi) along for the ride.

burt stands at the doors at the top of the stairs when the vehicles pull up, arms spread wide to gesture them on in quickly.

[ there's still a couple hours until showtime, and burt will send people constantly to retouch your character's hair, makeup, and general existence. the knights will have special box seats for the show, but until then they're free to hang out backstage amid the hustle and bustle.

[ as the hour of showtime approacheth, burt hunkers in front of a tv screen in one of the dressing rooms, anxiously drumming his fingers on the arm of his chair as the symbol for Chad's "Back to the Fans" tour comes up, showing a live stage broadcasting from Miami, Florida, where the show is kicking off. ] Chad bought up all the big name cable networks, but we got all the public audiences. [ still, he sounds nervous as Ryan Seacrest appears on screen and begins talking about NOVA Records newest innovative tour approach - a hodge podge of musical styles meant to launch a brand new line of artists from R&B to heavy metal. ] They got Seabiscuit? [ he slams his hand down in a fist onto the table beside him ] We don't have. A fucking celebrity host.

[ finally, it's close to time, and raf and finnick are called backstage, while the others are directed to their seats. since jade only has a number near the end of the show, she joins the knights in the balcony box seats reserved for them.

they'll have to split into two levels, each of which affords six seats. please indicate what seat your character is taking off this handy map so we know who is sitting by who when the concert post goes up.

for example, jade takes seat 5 on the lower level as she settles in to watch the first half of the show.
