CHAPTER FINALE ♔ darling can't you see it's now or never

♬ Astronaut (A Short History of Nearly Nothing) - Amanda Palmer ft. Zoe Keating
WHO || Rafael Giovanni, Eterna Jade, Burt Becksworth, Isabella Alessandro, Finnick Odair, Myrilandel de Tanos, Buffy Summers, Spike, Elena Gilbert, Dawn Summers, Desmond Descant, Jeanne Gar, Kat Samcelot, Mark Sandazhard, Violet Fiore, Sterling Archer
WHAT || CHAPTER ONE FINALE: Rafael Giovanni & Finnick's televised international concert debut
WHERE || A music hall in Chicago, IL
WHEN || July 3rd, 2013 [ forward dated]
HOW || Actionspam
The hour is finally upon our heroes, to learn whether their crazy plan to invest in making Finnick and Rafael international superstars under Burt Becksworth's management will pay off, and keep control of NOVA Records out of the hands of Chad Becksworth and his sinister compatriots. Now, as the Knights finish taking their seats in the balconies directly overlooking the stage, the concert goes live, broadcasting around the world, to where even other members of the Knighthood in London can gather to watch.
The camera pans across the endless sea of gathered, curious fans, who shake their arms wildly for their two seconds of fame, and then zooms in on a blonde figure on one corner of the stage, where she stands ready with a microphone: Buffy Summers.
[ the action of this post will be continually propelled by the interspersed musical numbers performed by finnick and rafael. each musical number will be up for a short amount of ooc time, in which players are free to create mini-thread responses directly to that song comment. these can be for internal reflection, to make commentary to the neighbors seated in their rows, for backstage convos for those involved in the program, or for 'host' commentary between some songs by archer and kat. threads that result from these responses should be kept short and sweet, as each song is only 3 to 5 minutes long, which doesn't leave a lot of time for in depth conversations. ideally, by the time the next 'number' is posted (as a direct response to the last musical number comment), your response threads from the previous number should be considered over and done with, and you can continue anything going on in them as a new mini-thread under the most recently posted song. in order to keep track of when things are rolling on to the next song, I highly encourage everyone to please track this entire post. ]

Stop. [There is a little panic to her voice as her thoughts collide.] If she remembers... what about, what happened to all that time she didn't remember? I mean the time after she came back and was all sans past. Was it just shunted to the side and replaced?

And then promptly starts shouting.]
It was a dream to her. It's like- it's like Nightscape. Everything that happens there... You just go in, you have the time of your life, and you walk out. And you don't remember anything. Because it wasn't supposed to be real. That's what we are to Jade. We're people she met in a dream. We're not real. The only person who is real to her is Rafael up there. That's her reality. We were just the people she hung out with until she woke up.
[He starts walking again.] And now that Sleeping Beauty's got her prince, I need a fuckin' drink.

It's selfish, some small selfless part of her realizes, to be upset about it. She should be happy; Jade and Rafael looked happy at least. But Jade was the only one who understood what it was like to have this... heritage, and to be judged from it. She didn't feel like a princess or like half a goddess. She didn't feel special, she felt constantly adrift and unfocused and Jade understood that. It was comforting to have, a security net that she wasn't alone in her grayness.
But now... She is rooted to her spot as confusion breaks around her, so when Des starts walking away she lets him. When her brain unfogs and returns to the present she doesn't try to stop him again. He lost more than she did. Instead her tiny voice calls after him:] Her necklace. Was she wearing it?
no subject
No. It broke when she remembered.

I'll buy. And here. [She holds out the flask she'd forgotten to return.] It's Archer's. I think it might be Absinthe. Or a million proof something. Or crack.

[He takes a long, hard swig from it. (NAT 20 FORT SAVE, MOTHERFUCKERS)]

Yeeeah, come on, let's get you some sugar to go with that fairy dust, Van Gogh. [She glances over to make sure he is actually going to join her at the bar... which is... somewhere.] Did you quote Star Trek at me, by the by? I detected a little Bones.

I'm fine. [She hesitates by the stool for a minute before hopping up next to him.] No, I lied. A white angel, please. [A beat.] Half gin, half vodka in a martini glass. Three cherries.

I convinced Jade to switch necklaces with me to see if we could trade energy because she felt like shit which in hindsight sounds like I should be punched in the face because that was a stupid plan all around. But whatever, it didn't work, but she did feel a little better when it was off, whereas I got a dream vision from hell, maybe actually hell, I haven't been there yet in this place, they could have redecorated while I was away. I just don't know. Dad does wacky things when I'm on holiday. Anyway, I thought if she didn't wear it for a while she might get some energy back because the necklace might have been draining her. Which, now all things considered, I actually believe.
But I guess it doesn't matter anymore.
