[Well, all the squires have gotten an extra long weekend to get settled around this place, but now it's time to get down to brass tacks.  Or something.  And Kat comes a knockin' on Myri's door with plans.]

Hope nobody's hung over in there.

We're a little short on active volcanoes around here.

[witchwoman]

Be thankful for that. [She says, thinking of the terrible state of Hanassa, a land for those banished from other kingdoms.]

So what is... snow, exactly?

[shootfirst]

It's what happens when it gets cold enough that the rain freezes. Kinda sucks, but it's mostly solid which means you can roll it into balls and chuck it at people's heads for fun.

[witchwoman]

[Myri stops at the nearest small pile of snow and leans down to brush her fingers against the white fluff. Her eyes widen at how cold it is, but she smiles quickly after.]

How wonderful...

[shootfirst]

There'll probably be plenty more where that came from. We're sort of in the middle of a deep freeze right now. [She heads down a side path that curves towards the outbuildings, walking backwards still to talk to Myri.]

[witchwoman]

It is rather cold.

[shootfirst]

We can always buy you a coat in town. [She directs the girl to the giant out building that houses the garage, and yanks open the door]

[witchwoman]

That might be best. [She tentatively steps towards the new building, still a little nervous about this little adventure.]

[shootfirst]

[Annnd she flicks the lights up, revealing row upon row upon row of company sedans, fancy sportscars, vans, SUVs, and Excalibur model old school autos as well. Kat heads towards an electric blue Fusion, which beeps as she presses the button on her keychain.] Over here!

[witchwoman]

[Myri's eyes flash wide at the sheer number of beasts held in this room. She is flabbergasted and frozen until Kat's voice snaps her out of it. She hurries to meet her Knight, eying the blue beast warily.]

And you're certain it's safe..?

[shootfirst]

Oh totally safe. They let people drive these things when they're sixteen, after all. [She'll yank open Myri's door.] Have a seat!

[witchwoman]

[She takes a deep breath and nods. There's only a moment more of hesitation before she climbs inside. She doesn't realize she's holding her breath until she lets it out in a long and loud exhale.]

[shootfirst]

[Kat slides into the driver's seat, throwing her a grin.] You get used to it. Promise. [And she turns the engine over, the radio ROARING to life at full volume.]

[witchwoman]

[She jumps and lets out a little yelp, hands immediately flying to the window, trying to find a way to escape.]

[shootfirst]

[She bats at the button a couple of times until it turns off, turning to try and put a hand on Myri's arm] Hey! It's ok! It was just the radio, see? It's off now...

[witchwoman]

[Still close to hyperventilating, she gulps and gasps for air. At least it's quiet now. After a few moments, she seems calmer.]

Radio?

[shootfirst]

Yeah, it's like a... magic box that plays music.

[witchwoman]

Is this entire world run by magic?

[shootfirst]

Ok so maybe magic was a bad choice of... word. There's this science-based phenomena called electricity that can look a lot like magic, but isn't.

[witchwoman]

[Myri doesn't have much concept of science, but she can accept that something is just beyond her understanding. Much of this world falls into that category. She's just glad that the loud noise has stopped.]

So where are we going?

[shootfirst]

I want to show you what a city looks like around here. Stores, clubs, that kind of thing.

[witchwoman]

And how long must I- we... sit within this creature?

[She's obviously uncomfortable but not quite as afraid.]

What I mean to say is, is it far?

[shootfirst]

Well, usually it ... takes about an hour? But that's for people who drive like snails. [Which, as she whips out of the garage, it becomes apparent she doesn't mean to do at all]

[witchwoman]

[As they get out of the garage, Myri grips at the door for dear life. She doesn't say anything but her expression is back to the terrified side.]

[shootfirst]

[She seems to find Myri's terror to be kind of adorable and shoots her a big grin] Guessing you don't want me to put the windows down. [The big black gates out front open slowly, almost too slowly, as they rattle when Kat zooms through them]
