[ Today's the fourth of July, and the city is bustling with happy, smiling citizens on their way to watch fireworks tonight with their loved ones. And then there's the Corvette of people sailing through traffic with almost desperate abandon, as Des steers his way through the city with a basically heartwrenching nat 20 drive check towards the hospital. Rafael lets Violet sit on his lap in the passenger bucket seat, but he doesn't say a word as he stares forward grimly, lost inside his thoughts entirely the whole way there.

They make startling time. There's another car of Knights on the way, but lagging quite a bit behind by the time Des pulls into a spot right up front. ]

[ she tries really hard to keep them quiet, it's a valiant effort. but after a few moments, the door squeaks open very slowly and kat pokes her head in. she looks uncomfortable already at the sight, but she seems to suck it up with some effort, hovering awkwardly half in the door. ] ... Uh... are you--

I heard--

[ completely unsure of how to finish that, she looks desperately in myri's direction, as if for permission to come aboard, or a sign that she should shoo ]

[Myri holds onto her friend, resting her cheek against the op of the girl's head once she buries it against Myri's shoulder. Her hand moves slowly, rubbing along Buffy's back in attempt to offer some sort of physical comfort. She glances up at the squeak from the door and gives a sad smile at the sight of Kat's uncomfortable posture. She nods and raises one hand enlighten to beckon her into the room before returning it to Buffy.]

It's been a very long few days. [She offers as explanation in a softer, quieter tone.]

kat hesitates a little longer, but then comes in with an awkward shrug. ] Tell me about it. I just walked past Archer's room and the door was ajar and Elena was in there doing god knows what with him and a bottle of wine. [ she sounds pretty horrified. lbr, she probably should be.

she sits on the very edge of the bed. ] Is she, uh-- [ she looks at buffy, raising her eyebrows ] Are you-- [ there's a strong element of this going on ]

[slay]

No. No, it's - [ buffy's already straightening up and pulling away from myri, cleaning her face up quickly and getting herself under control. the sobs quiet and though her shoulders are still shaking a little and her cheeks are still red, her expression is hard and neutral. ] What'd you say about Elena?

[shootfirst]

As Archer would put it, I think she's in the Danger Zone.

[witchwoman]

[Myri looks really confused, slowly pulling back from Buffy as the other woman works to compose herself.]

Elena and...Archer? [Does not compute.] I'm sure she's fine. The man is unpredictable but not nearly as dangerous as he seems.

[Which is her opinion only because he seems to cower at the right hard look or sharp word. Nevermind that he nearly broke Des' chest open by chucking a shotgun at him...]

[ Kat shrugs ] I guess I can't blame her for choosing now to jump his bones or whatever, considering how badass it was when he shot that asswipe in the face.

At least he seemed to get who the bad guy was. I still can't believe Des almost shot Rafael. What the actual fuck was that anyway? [ remember when Kat crit failed her sense motive and was convinced des was gonna kill Rafael in front of the whole world? Yeahhhh no one ever corrected that misconception... ]

[slay]

He wasn't actually going to shoot him. Archer, on the other hand, shot a guy while he was down and is definitely not the kind of bones Elena should be jumping.

[ yeah she's getting up off the bed now because she needs to protect her ducklings. ]

What are you gonna do, go bust in there and play Cockblock Cop? [ there's a beat ] Cuz if so, I wanna watch.

[witchwoman]

[Guys, quite using euphemisms. This isn't nice to your friend who is not native to this time period. Myri is completely lost (wis crit fail, total 5). Apparently getting it on the regular from Finnick has not helped her understand these lovely terms.

But when Buffy stands, Myri does as well.]

[slay]

Damn right I am. [ buffy turns her attention to myri ] Archer's trying to make a move on Elena and we're gonna stop it.

[witchwoman]

Move? What sort of- [And then it hits her (wis 18 FINALLY). She looks horrified and looks between the both of them.] Elena would never- Yes, perhaps we should go find them before she does something she might regret.

[shootfirst]

Now this is the way to take your mind off things. [ kat hops up eagerly, and pushes the door open ] After you. [ annnd we can move to crash here :3 ]
