[ Today's the fourth of July, and the city is bustling with happy, smiling citizens on their way to watch fireworks tonight with their loved ones. And then there's the Corvette of people sailing through traffic with almost desperate abandon, as Des steers his way through the city with a basically heartwrenching nat 20 drive check towards the hospital. Rafael lets Violet sit on his lap in the passenger bucket seat, but he doesn't say a word as he stares forward grimly, lost inside his thoughts entirely the whole way there.

They make startling time. There's another car of Knights on the way, but lagging quite a bit behind by the time Des pulls into a spot right up front. ]

[Spike's more worried about Rafael doing something stupid than Vi at the moment, but he looks at Myri curiously all the same.]

[Des has been stuffing his face this entire time and now that the story of Violet's Bad Life Choices is about to be rehashed yet again, he decides it's time to take his leave. He shoves his food away and stands.] Well, I'm done. C'mon, Fluffy, let's get back to the hotel.

[He doesn't even stop. He just grabs Rafael by the collar with the intent to drag him across the cafeteria. (str 11)]

I'm worried she'll try to go after Keijen on her own. She said she wouldn't, but...

[But Myri would run if she was in the girl's shoes. She'd keep them all safe and try to resolve the issue on her own.]

I seem to be the only one concerned about the matter, though. [Her tone is tired but make no mistake that it's a dig in Finnick's direction.]

[ rafael manages to pull out of des' grasp, but not like he's planning to book it across the hospital and run back upstairs. just because on principle, he's less okay with des dragging him around 8| he doesn't anything else, however, just heads out towards the car for their long, sullen ride home. ]
