I think we have different definitions of the word 'treasure,' lass.

Never discount the importance of information, Thoster. The Index is a magical artifact - a compilation of translations of a series of scrolls written by the last librarian of the Great Library of Alexandria - it magically indexes over 40,000 volumes of ancient knowledge. Studying the book transfers that index to the mind of the reader.

That sounds... exhausting. [He has a headache just thinking about it.] But it's been a good while since I went off in search of anything worth finding. Mind if I..? [He gestures to the chair nearby. He wants to join your search/research party, guys!!!]

[ belle makes room for him instantly ] Sir Cabot and some of the other Knights were actually on the trail of one copy of the Index, some months ago.

You don't say... He never mentioned it at all. [And a quick look to Val'drin because REALLY. He could have helped. Or at least had a bit of fun with you.]

I take it the trail ran cold?

We were rather rudely interrupted by a traveler popping through the Veil. Have you met Phineas?

Absolutely bizarre chap, that one.

[His face breaks out in a grin.]

Met him? That bastard's one of the best men I've met 'round this place.

Well he certainly didn't endear himself to some of us when he showed up half-on-fire in the desert and made us lose the scent.

A man can't very well help how or where the Veil dumps him out, friend. I'm sure you've seen worse in your day.

Well, naturally. But it's very rarely been a personal inconvenience.

[bluffcheck]

No use holding a grudge, though. Besides, he's all tangled up in books and things, isn't he? Ever thought to call in a favor and see if he can help with this mess?

I'm no good with books- more of a spoken word fellow myself. But if you pick up the trail, I'd love to see where it leads you.

I'll keep that in mind. [ it's a good humored grudging acceptance, but what do you expect ] Next treasure hunt, I'm leaving Lis'sa behind. She gets too easily derailed when something shiny turns up.

Well, I don't suppose anyone much seems her type. She keeps to herself. Can't tolerate idiots, and most people are, compared to her.
