[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of this month.  Because not everyone is into parties, ok.

[ edain heaves forward again abruptly, grimacing. (atk 24, dmg 10) ] Enough playing. Step aside.

[There's a strange feeling that washes over him, like he can go the distance, like he can fucking beat this guy.]

Who's playing?

[He swings his sword with amazing precision to cut his opponent down (attack 28, dmg 12)]

[ the slice takes edain entirely off guard and he staggers a bit, smile dropping into a scowl ] Well, there he is. [ someone ain't playing now (nat 20, 22 hp) ]

[ amara's not done, and she waves her hand again, adding even more vigor to his limbs ]

[Even with his stalker girlfriend trying to lend him a helping hand, Edain's last blow brought him to his knees.

(Amara's first spell gives him temp HP equal to her caster level but... idk what that is. But that last hit put him at -8 of his normal HP so just let me know if he's unconscious or not....)]

[ her CL is 20 so... he's still up! ]

[Thank goodness! So with his remaining 12 hp, Charming doesn't think about slowing down because WHAT IS HOLDING BACK??]

You think you can bully someone just because you're given some sort of authority over them? What kind of Knight are you?

[He swings hard and fast in retaliation, even if his blows aren't landing nearly as strongly as his opponents. (attack 31, dmg 14)]

[ gurl's just getting warmed up. this time she targets edain... with waves of exhaustion (damn, spell don't even need a save o__o). which gives him a -6 to str and dex, so his AC goes down by 3...)

[ ahaha omg his next attack is literally a 13. sweat pours down his brow as he shakes his head against the encroaching weariness, and slowly swings... way too slow. between gritted teeth: ] A better one than you'll [ nrgh ] ever be.

[uncease]

[Charming side steps the blow easily.]

That so? Funny- you're the one not looking so great. [He brings his sword around again, not looking to show much mercy yet. This is about teaching an important lesson. (attack 25, dmg 11)]

Just yield and this will all be over.

[ amara steps closer behind charming and casts repulsion... which has the hilarious effect of making it so that EDAIN CAN'T APPROACH HER. and therefore can't walk any closer to charming. he struggles to move forward and grits his teeth against the invisible force.

luckily, charming can still move towards him. :) ]

[Charming stops and straightens as he watches Edain struggle. It gives him a moment to come to his infuriatingly heroic sense.]

Seriously. Just walk away. [He glances over at the man's squire.] There's a lesson you can teach your squire- when to know you're beaten.

[ edain scowls and then lets out a snarl, jamming his finger forward at charming ] This isn't over, Charming. Next time, you won't have your witch around to save you. [ he shoves his sword in its sheath and then walks around amara's resistance bubble, storming out the door ]

[uncease]

[Charming is SO CONFUSED until he turns to watch Edain leave and comes face to face with Amara.]

What..? [Still confused tbh.] What are you doing here?

[besmitten]

[ she smiles warmly and walks up to him, placing her hands on his chest. behind him, aurelius tries to approach to thank him, and hits the resistance wall comically. he looks confused and tries again, and opens his mouth to say something, but she shoots him a nat 20 intimidate look over charming's shoulder and his eyes go wide, and he spins around and walks off. i can't make this shit up. ]

Looking for you, love.

[Charming is so super oblivious, it's painful. He's confused and tired from fighting, so he just happens to look down RIGHT as Amara shoots Aurelius that nasty look (spot 10).]

What did he mean? Edain. Were you... Did you do something? Cast something?

I didn't have to. [ she winds a finger up to his chin (bluff 23) ] You showed him all by yourself.

[uncease]

[He looks at her warily (SENSE MOTIVE 21 SO FUCKING CLOSE ARGH), but decides it's just his own disbelief that he could best a more experienced Knight. Perhaps he truly was meant to be here.]

Oh... [The corners of his mouth lift in a smile, because he is just so damned pleased with himself.]

You're amazing. [ she leans closer, eyes tracing his face. ] I could have told you that.

[uncease]

[His pride in his own actions eventually wears off and he remembers the last time they saw each other. He's a little surprised that she still looks so happy to see him since he's been avoiding her.]

...Thanks. I, uh- Amara, about what happened before... [Being a good guy in battle means he's pretty much full to bursting with guilt right now. Finding words is still hard, so he looks at her, hoping that she will just get it.]

You mean when we-- [ and she runs her hand across his chest, looking up at him through her eyelashes suggestively. ]

[uncease]

[gulp]

Yeah...yeah when we... [The combination of the heat of battle, the memories of that night, and that look she's giving him? Charming tries and fails to keep his blood from rushing from his brain and headed south. He fails hard. Painfully hard. (Will save crit fail)]

[ jfc she just rolled a nat 20 charm check, i can't even write anything that sexy. but she is fully turning on the old bedroom eyes over here, as she presses up against him. ] Made love? [ her voice drops huskily to a whisper: ] I can't stop thinking about it either.

[uncease]

[He groans. It's quiet, but he actually groans because holy shit she is way too attractive and touching him and... Wow, all he can think about is what it felt like to have her under him before and...]

Yeah. [Wait. No. He didn't really think of it as making love, but... he's not thinking clearly, and it's the only syllable he can work out as he holds onto the hilt of his sword (which is not a metaphor.. for the record) tighter until his knuckles go white.]

How have you been? Since..? [Since it happened? Since he didn't call? Since he's been avoiding you for some time now......]

I've missed you. I know your training requires your full attention, love, and yet...

Clearly you do not need as much of it as others here. [ she inclines her head in the direction edain left ]
