Why would they want to haunt their own grave? [ She pauses to brush dirt from another headstone. ] I think if spirits are gonna linger somewhere, it's, like... a place that held a certain emotion for them.

Have you ever seen one?

I don't know. [ Scrunchy face. This requires thinking and poking at her memories. ] I can't really remember, but I don't think I have?

Seems like the kind of thing you wouldn't forget.

I know, I just-- [ The memory stuff is a tender subject. She bites her lip. ] Let's just say I have definitely not seen one since I came through the Veil thing.

From your mouth to... [ Vague gesture to the sky. ] Whomever's ears. Really could do without the ghostly encounters tonight.

Yee-eah, probably. [ There's a short pause while she tries to think of something not gloomy, but not ridiculous. Saying 'puppies' right now is probably a dumb idea. ] Gar says you're pretty handy with the--the gun stuff. That you might be able to teach me?

She said that? [ he sounds... a little like a puppy himself, he's so pleased. ] I wouldn't say I'm exactly Italian gunslinger quality but I know my way around one. And yeah! We can shoot cans off a roof or... maybe something less likely to get us arrested in the city.

[ It hadn't been the exact turn of phrase, but she holds Gar in high esteem. And when Kat and Mark are in the same list of people she could learn something from? Yeah, she'll just be quietly impressed. ]

It would be just my luck we'd end up shooting someone's antique cans and they'd get all irritable about it. [ Random pop culture reference, anyone? ] There's gotta be, like, shooting ranges and stuff, right?

I suppose that's what normal people do when they've got an itchy trigger finger, so probably. We'll find one and make a field trip. I could use the distraction.

Agreed. Distraction is the name of the game right now, I think. And I think a shopping spree wouldn't be all that... productive.

Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to agree with you there. [ he sounds legit disappointed on that one. ]

Then again... [ Cause imagine her surprise to hear a guy disappointed about shopping. ] It's good stress-relief and that could probably be considered productive.
