[ this post covers all events from the flight to paris through the initial meeting to get things rolling on the mission. there will be three relevant threads below, please wait for them to be posted to comment ♥ ]

[ and a very put-out looking christos follows, although they might not even realize he is with his 35 move silently check. he's a fucking ghost. and prepares to boost emma up with a strength check of 19 ]

[ it's not until she turns to get a hand up that she spots christos following and startles a little. but she'll take the boost up and try to grip the edge of the window. she pulls a pocket knife from inside of her jacket and whips out the nail file attachment, jimmying it under the window and managing to switch the lock with a practiced ease (nat 20 disable device nailed it). then she peers inside to search out any nearby baddies and the fusebox itself (spot 20 total). ]

[ the coast is clear of guards inside the room, but the fusebox isn't visible inside this particular room. it looks like the run across the ceiling of the length of the storage room here and into the next room, so she'll have to drop down (another move silently), and sneak in there (hide check) ]

[ emma and grace are having a rough time today because her move silently check is a whole 9 this time (wow very improvement much dexterity), so she staggers a little as she slides into the room, heavy on her heels. as she makes her way across the room, however, she does a good job of staying out of sight (hide 15). ]

[ the next room is the vast majority of the warehouse itself, and there are tiny runner lights across the center of the ceiling all the way down, shedding enough to see the crates stacked across the floor. the fusebox is directly to her right, at least. ]

[ she flips open the fusebox and gets to work, tripping switches (disable device 18). ]

[ the lights flicker out one by one, leaving emma stranded in the darkness. with a listen check of 12+ she could hear sounds of surprise from further down the warehouse... while outside, christos sees the lights go out and immediately moves to the back door, unlocking it in seconds and slipping inside. ]

[Well... Bye Christos. Still in the alley, Faye will just hang out here, I guess???]

[ with a listen of 18, she hears the sounds of surprise from inside the warehouse, and as she exits the room, she realizes she doesn't hear faye. she doesn't really expect to hear christos, so she assumes he's got this shit under control ok. but faye she expects to have caught up with her when christos came in, so she moves to the back door and props it open, leaning out to wave her in. ]

Come on. We should split up, we'll find the manifests faster. Anything that might tell us where these containers are going.

[Faye was just trying to stay out of Christos' way, alright. No one said anything about her following the grumpy elf inside while he went to go beat up guards. She nods to Emma and follows her back into the warehouse.]

Got it. [Using her cell phone to help light her way, Faye begins her hunt (search 22)]

[ emma searches through the warehouse as well once faye's inside, taking care to comb any hanging clipboards or countertops where the manifests may be laying out (search 17). ]

[ a listen check of 20+ can hear the very muffled sound of something slumping across the darkness behind some crates... but no screams or anything more.

faye's cellphone lights up the words MANIFEST on a big clipboard hanging off a nail over the desk... the top of it is dated from this past week. ]

[As she comes across the manifest, Faye stops and grabs the clipboard off the nail. She doesn't hear anything (listen 10) but she's trying to be quiet as well. Shouting for Emma seems... like a bad mood. Glancing at her phone, she figures maybe the screen will change enough to alert the woman to a new message? It's worth a shot.]

Found it. I'm heading your way.

[ she critfailed her listen check so she'll just go selectively deaf and the only reason she catches faye's news is because her phone is on vibrate. god bless. ]

By the back door. [ she drops whatever she's sifting through and heads back in that direction. ]

[Faye thankfully knows how to retrace her steps and heads back to the back door (navigate 15). Catching sight of Emma, she holds up the clipboard and hands it over to let the other woman look through it. She'll even shine her cell phone light down to help. Look at her team playering.]

[ what the manifest contains is rather chilling. or would be more chilling if faye and emma knew more about science but they know ENOUGH to recognize after a moment that this is some kind of chemical warfare shit. ]

Faye, this - [ she skims the pages, confused but processing enough to know it's seriously fucking bad news. ] This is bioterrorism. [ and MORE than enough to depose the mayor, which emma is ... now seriously reconsidering. because having a mayor willing to commit what's essentially genocide really trumps the threat to their client's life if he gets vengeful doesn't it??? she swallows her shock and hastily snaps pictures of the pages with her phone, but she's fumbling. ] Maybe we should just take the papers with us. Set them back a few days, we don't know, it could keep them from shipping some of this out before we can talk him down.

My guess is we might stall them a day but they probably have a digital copy. And if those guards come to and talk about someone knocking them out? He's going to move up his plans. Whatever we're going to do, we need to do it now.

Yeah. [ she takes a breath and starts to snap pictures of the pages with her phone, shaking it off. it's just confirmation of what they already knew - some kind of attack on shadowkind in the city. but talking about it in abstract is different than seeing it. ] All right. Drop that back where you found it. [ she shoves her phone into her pocket. ] Let's get out of here. Where the hell is Christos?

Being smug and annoying somewhere? It wasn't my turn to watch him. [She hopes it's never her turn. Taking the clipboard, Faye goes to make her way to drop the manifest back off where she found it.]

[ he's... right behind you actually. but with a 44 move silently and a 35 hide, you probably didn't notice that. he swishes his cloak to conceal the line of knives at his belt as he sheathes one. ] I'm surprised the entire block didn't hear you both. Let's go.

[ THANKS ASSHOLE. emma looks markedly annoyed for a moment, but simply turns to exit the warehouse without a word, because YOU AREN'T WORTH IT DAMMIT. ]

[After returning from doing HER DAMN JOB, THANKS... Faye just rolls her eyes at Chrstos' remarks and heads out with Emma.]

[ as they get in the car, christos checks the phones, where there's no word yet from the other group ] Let's hope they haven't fouled everything up on their end, at least.

Should we wait until they check in or head their way or..? [She has not taken it upon herself to just text Lila... yet. For all she knows, that may somehow blow their part of the mission. Being cautious and caring is hard though. ugh.]
