[Well she's not going to throw up this time, so maybe knowing its only a couple hours helps. (Fort 16) She still looks a little green and clammy though. And she is fiddling with her phone because claustrophobia makes her stressed and she wants to talk to someone who already knows this. But she doesn't. So enjoy Lila right now, folks. She ain't happy.

Luckily they are going to Paris. So she can buy a crate of her fancy ass French cigarettes and ship them home. Small miracles.]

[Faye is normally pretty in tune with Lila's moods, but apparently she's distracted by the trip to France (wis 7). She's already camped out in the seat next to her, also playing on her phone- because they are two teenagers and have terrible attention spans.]

So how's Harry? [No, she totally still buys it but she emphasizes it instead of using his princely title. She is so slick, you don't even know.]

[ a steady hand drops onto lila's shoulder as emma moves about the cabin. ]

Shopping/Sight Seeing

[Awh yeah shopping in Paris. This is pretty much the best thing Faye has ever been asked to do. Well.. she was only asked to go to France, but you don't send a teenager with a charge card to a place like Paris and NOT expect them to buy enough to fill an extra suitcase on the way back.

She's already hit up three stores and has bags lined along her arm as she confidentially strolls down the street.]

This is way better than Nevada.

It's Paris, Faye. It's better than everything. [Lila's hands are also full but one is holding a cigarette, she's been chain smoking the entire time is all honesty, and the other has a crepe. Because food. Have you had crepes in Paris? It's way better than that Mona Lisa bullshit.

Is anyone at all surprised by this? No? Good. Don't worry, she's down wind, okay, she won't give her lung cancer to anyone else.]

MISSION ♔ meeting with taenya farstorm

[ anastacia leads the group to the councilwoman's office on the appointed day, while christos hangs back at the hotel, because he apparently wants to be able to move out behind the scenes on this mission without taenya having any idea who he is, or that he's with the knights. just in case.

the councilwoman's office is bright and welcoming, one entire wall made of windows, and a plethora of plants everywhere, making it seem almost more like an indoor greenhouse than a politician's space. taenya farstorm herself is a petite woman, no more than five foot two, with unusual taupe colored hair and very prominent elven ears that she makes no attempt to hide. she's dressed in modern, professional clothing, and holds herself with an impressive bearing that makes her seem much larger than her stature would suggest. she shakes each of their hands in turn, gathering names, before turning back to pick up a pot of some kind of steaming tea.

"I'm so glad you answered my call. I've heard promising things about what Wynn stands for, and it's hard to know who to trust in this business. Tea?" ]

[The more elves she meets, the more Faye feels like an Amazon with her 5'10" frame jfc. She stands a few steps behind Anastacia on her left side, taking in the look of the room. At the mention of tea, she holds up a hand and shakes her head, not really interested in it at the moment.]

Happy to help. [She puts on a sweet smile, trying to act like she means it more than she actually does. It's not that she doesn't want to help, exactly. She just doesn't care as much as she probably should. (bluff 20 total).]

Tea would be lovely. Thank you.

[She never says no to tea. She glances around the room as well, eyes taking note of the personal touches to try and learn a little more about her without actually asking.]

finding christos

[Once out of the room, Faye turns and glances over her shoulder at Felicity.]

I'll call, you drive? [She's already digging her phone out of her purse and dialing the extremely grumpy Knight. This might count as the most cooperative Faye has been since arriving in this world.]

[Felicity nods her agreement as she follows her to the car. With a drive check of 17, the ride will be pretty smooth, so Faye should have no problems talking while she does.

Also, unless she's on speaker, she probably won't be talking too much but she will try to pick up what she can from Faye's side of the conversation.]

[ the ride home was awkwardly tense and quiet. entirely emma's fault, which really helps the mood she's been put in by all of this. she's direct to the point as they brush into the hotel room. ]

Tell me that cup got us somewhere.

[Lila just flings herself on the couch. Fuck this noise.] Somewhere with booze, preferably.

Too many muddled prints, to no one's surprise. [ he gestures to a tiny petri dish looking thing that has a few drops in it ] But I found traces of the poison. An expensive brand, but nothing Shadow in origin. It belongs to a rare spider, a native of Madagascar, known for being relatively tasteless, and remarkably fast-acting. The catch being that the venom loses much of its potency within forty eight hours of being extracted from the spider's glands.

Back at the hotel

[ everyone regroups after their individual discoveries, to decide on their next course of action... ]

One of the mayor's lackeys brought a souvenir home from Madagascar recently.

[ it seems like an important place to start, given the time sensitivity. she drops printed pages of phone records on the table. ]

If we can get into that office tonight and get pictures, then I've got records of correspondence between her and the mayor just before her trip. It's circumstantial at best, but it should be enough to put some pressure on. No politician on Earth would want this leaked to the press.

It's got to be one hell of a souvenir to top what we found at that warehouse.

[Just because Faye is feeling more helpful doesn't mean she can't still be a bratty teenager.]

[ it's dark and silent at the office building this time when they approach, and anastacia pulls the car to a stop across the street. ]

We'll probably have to worry about cameras.

[ lila lifts her hands slightly. ] Don't look at me. I talk and people just... let me in. I don't know how to break into places, that is not in my repertoire. Yet.

But it is in mine.

[Felicity inches a bit closer, trying to see if she can catch the angles that the cameras are at from here, but she can't see much from this position (spot 5.5)]

All cameras have blind spots - we just need to stick to them until we find the panel to turn them off.

down by the docks ♔ faye, emma, christos

[ parked across from the warehouse, christos checks some knives at his belt and then yanks his cloak back over them in the back seat. he's not happy about emma being the driver, ok. ]

[ emma gives christos a flat look for that one, then unbuckles her seatbelt and pushes the door open, climbing out. nope. n o p e. why are you even here bro. she don't have time for your expectant WELL?????!!?? well your face. she slams the door shut behind her and paces, squinting across the way at the warehouse. ]

Did you two find a back entrance when you were here earlier? [ 'you two' being faye and felicity. emma is over u christos. ]

The Mayor's House

[ the team gathers at the mayor's house after nightfall, anastacia and felicity staying in the car for back-up / getaway purposes. which leaves the others to scope out the place, which is surrounded by a high brick wall.

christos, swathed in his customary black cloak, looks the others over skeptically. ] How well versed in climbing are the lot of you?

...What? [How's that for an answer?] Why can't we just use the door like a normal person? This place has to have a gate or something.
