[ she looks up in a panic at anastacia, for affirmation, then to taenya across the room. ]

Where the hell is that cleric?!

[silvermaid]

[ as the cleric comes in, and taenya moves to explain the situation to her as she comes to lila's side, anastacia moves over next to felicity and faye and lowers her voice. ] Go contact Sir La Krail. He'll know what to do with it.

[reallywicked]

[For once, Faye doesn't protest- which likely says a great deal. She looks briefly to Felicity before turning on her heels and letting those long limbs work for her to hurry out of the room.]

[Felicity nods, before turning and following's Faye's lead.]

[ emma doesn't move, because right now all the bones in her body are maternal ones, and she's not leaving lila's side. she has to assume anastacia realizes it doesn't take three people to get christos, and that emma's picked her spot. she begins gently trying to offer lila the water. ]

[bittersweeter]

[Lila tries to sip the water, but like anyone with an experience drinking while laying down, she chokes on it a little and coughs. Because dying from poison isn't pathetic and undignified enough.] What if the cleric poisoned the tea? They could kill me. And blame it on the poison. No one would suspect.

[She wrinkles her nose, realizing belatedly that if Emma didn't like her last request she probably won't appreciate that either. She mouths "I'm sorry" but she doesn't say it, Lila isn't an apology kind of girl.]

I seem to recall a mention of you not needing to talk right now.

[ in other words HUSH GURL you will be more likely to live for it. ]

[ anastacia shakes her head at lila, her brows pulled together in concern. ]

If there's poison left after they finish with you, I can detect it. I just don't know if I could do more than delay its effects... I'd rather we let an expert tend to it. [ the cleric moves across from anastacia, looking lila over with a deep frown.

"It will be easy to drain the poison." her fingertips brush over lila's forehead and she'd feel the strange spark of magic spreading through her veins as the cleric's magic seeks to neutralize all of it. ]

[bittersweeter]

[Lila stiffens, nose wrinkling in discomfort. She doesn't like people touching her unless she initiates it for one, but she really hates the idea of magic being used on her. Even if its for her benefit, even if she knows the person doing it. If she couldn't let Tia in, is it any wonder she shies away from the cleric?

She tries to keep her breathing slow and steady, but it speeds up slightly from instinctive panic. She is the worst patient. Sorry. Still she manages to direct a shaky question at Anastacia.] You're magic?

[uncurse]

[ emma takes a step back as the cleric moves in, worry coloring her expression. ]

[silvermaid]

[ as the cleric begins intoning a restoration spell, anastacia smiles shakily down at lila ] My goddess - my grandmother - has granted me some power to help further her cause in this world, yes. It's still somewhat new for me.

[bittersweeter]

Your grandmother is a goddess. [Hmm. Yeah, if anyone thought Lila was actually going to shut up during this, they were wrong.] Thats nice. Pretty sure mine was a mean old Russian lady that got pissed I wouldn't learn Russian, but that's sorta the same thing.

[uncurse]

Lila.

[ her voice is soft but chiding, a gentle reminder that there will be time to talk about this after she's recovered, and quieting down is the best thing she can do for herself right now. ]

[bittersweeter]

I know. [Which comes out in a fairly stressed hiss.] But I'm trying really hard not to freak out, in public, for freakin' joy, so you gotta gimme this.

[silvermaid]

[ as the restoration spell comes into effect, lila's temporary ability damage will drain away as the strength comes back to her limbs. anastacia watches the cleric as she draws away, and nods satisfactorily. ]

She should be alright now, actually.

[bittersweeter]

I'm fine, I keep saying that. [She delicately sits up, smoothing her skirt over her knees like it's no big deal, but she still feels shaky and off, emotionally at least. Which is why she immediately turns the subject away from herself to focus on the elf.] Do any of the people fighting you happen to be women? [A beat.] Poison is almost exclusively used by females, guys prefer more obvious modes of dispatch.

[uncurse]

[ there's a wash of relief over emma's face, and it takes her a moment to catch up. however, once lila's analyzing, something clicks with emma and she joins in. ]

Cut brakes too, actually. It's as good a place as any to start.

[silvermaid]

[ taenya's eyes widen a bit as she considers.

"Most of the corporate boards are male-dominated, but the mayor's strongest supporter is a woman. Elodie Olympe." ]

[bittersweeter]

[The Mayor. It's always someone with god damn legislative power in her life, isn't it? Well at least Lila is officially on Team Elf.]

So I am assuming we don't want to kill the mayor, because... that would be wrong. [She doesn't sound like she thinks its wrong, casually discussing murder as she pulls out her phone to text Faye that she is not, in fact, a corpse.] But it would be pretty easy to dispose him with a public episode of psychosis which would both call into question anything he's done in the past and pretty much guarantee nothing he says in the future will be taken seriously. And if he is out of power, then his biggest supporter will be powerless and defenseless. [Her mouth turns down in a mock pout.] So sad.

[uncurse]

If we depose a government official, he's only going to get worse trying to take revenge. [ a beat. she holds up her hands. ] Not that I'm suggesting assassination as a better choice. But if we confront him with proof that we could implicate him publicly and have him taken down for it, maybe it'll give us the chance to settle this diplomatically.

[bittersweeter]

[Lila makes a face because she is a five year old. Diplomacy ended a near-death experience ago, okay.] Well we could get him out of the way without killing him and make sure he can't come back for revenge. But if you all think assassination is messy you probably won't like that plan either.

[silvermaid]

It still might be worth hearing.

[bittersweeter]

Well my power does have the capability of driving people insane. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest insane.

You're right. I don't like that plan.

[silvermaid]

If he's really stooped to trying to take a life, he deserves to face justice for it - in his right mind, so that he can recognize the error of his ways.
