[ the pendergast manor is a sprawling sight, impressive even to those who live in the world's most ridiculously sized castle. the whole place has a sort of country club air, and white gloved butlers escort the little troupe of knights through the halls, past expensive paintings and all the other old money trappings. ]

[ callista shifts uncomfortably, looking chastened by them all, eyes dropping to the floor, before she looks up at thoster nervously ]

My darling Lissa was attacked, someone's apparently dead? [He wasn't there for that, but he looks to the others for re-affirmation.]

You've got all the mental prowess of a troll, girl. [He spits the insult through his gritted black teeth.]

[ she balks slightly at that, obviously unused to anyone talking to her that way. solace sighs and turns to head back down the hall. ] I'll see what I can do for the woman.

Alright, alright... [Thoster steps forward to stand between the group and Calista.] Let's not forget that the lass has had her share of the trauma. [And she's also the client, so he's thinking about that as well. Not that he needs this to go especially well to get paid, but he'd hate for Wynn's reputation to get tarnished because of a brat's bruised ego.]

Perhaps we should see the rest of your guests out, hm?

[ callista looks grateful for thoster's interference, even as she nods sullenly. "I'll... deal with the guests." she turns to head back towards the ballroom, but stops and looks back, before mumbling almost inaudibly: "Thanks..." and vanishing once more. ]

I'll go with. [ she straightens her shoulders and smooths down her dress, flicking some dust of the silky fabric. she's good at taking and she knows her way around rich people, tbh. ]

[ it's not that hard to find mr. pendergast. he's an imposing man in a severe suit, with a streak of gray in his otherwise black hair and a permafrown. ]

[Thoster doesn't mind the company/backup really. As they approach Calista's father, he steps up and offers a hand.]

Evenin, sir. Was hoping you might have a moment to chat.

Your daughter's... stalker, has been dealt with. [ she smiles sweetly, hoping to set callista's father at ease so he'll be more inclined to listen to them without being insulted by any implication that perhaps he needs to rethink his child rearing ideas. (cha 23) ] We were simply wondering if we could speak about, um, aftercare, for lack of a better word.

[ he seems charmed enough by lissa's manner, offering her a tight, small smile, notably more at ease than when they approached. ] ... My wife will certainly sleep better at night for the news. Myself as well, of course.

[Bitchy.] Distressed, is all. She'll be fine.

Phineas! [ her tone has a definite reprimand in it. as in cease being rude, right this instant, please. but she doesn't let her frown linger, turning back to mr pendergast with an apologetic smile. ] She's shaken, yes, but she's resilient, I don't doubt she'll bounce back quickly enough. There is another matter we wished to discuss with you, but perhaps it's better to do so in private?

[ she doesn't want to judge his parenting and drop the oh btw someone died down the hall bomb on him in front of the guests. ]

[ he nods towards a little side room with a piano in it, leading them that way with only a cursory look at phineas. once they're all in, he quietly shuts the door behind them. ] Well?

I'm afraid this wasn't some harmless fling, sir. The stalker was a... [Thoster casts a quick glance to Lissa without really knowing he's doing it.] A vampire. I'm not sure what sort of company your daughter has a habit of keeping, but while we managed to stop this one incident, there's no telling if he's got friends and if they'll be angry for what's happened tonight.

[ his expression clouds and darkens as he looks between them. ] Is this some sort of joke?

Afraid not. We just thought you ought to know.

We don't wish to worry you, sir. [ she hurries to calm the waters (diplomacy 30) ] We simply don't wish for Callista to find herself in such a dangerous situation again and we're hoping we'll be able to help you find an appropriate solution, whether it be a temporary boost in security or some way to keep such... creatures from entering the grounds.
