[ the pendergast manor is a sprawling sight, impressive even to those who live in the world's most ridiculously sized castle. the whole place has a sort of country club air, and white gloved butlers escort the little troupe of knights through the halls, past expensive paintings and all the other old money trappings. ]

[ stupidly attractive, you say? consider lissa there. she knows her talents, and besides healing -- cute guys are her talent. that and she has a weird aversion to older men for some reason she can't name that makes her feel like choking (sorry solace), so she is steering clear of the old lady and her husband and the drunk guy. and frankly, she feels like if someone is stalking the socialite, people her own age would be a decent choice. and a decent cover would be a popular hottie. cute guy and his posse it is.

adjusting her dress, she plucks an hor d'oeuvre off the table and fiddles it between her fingers, delicately moving closer to said attractive guy. ] Excuse me, could you pass me a napkin?

[ well, as he gets a closer look at her, he looks suitably dumbstruck, grinning back. ] England, huh?

[ yes, good. she shrugs, lightly, in an absentminded way, as if the circumstances didn't matter. ] A mutual friend introduced us. I think he thought Callista might help me get back to my roots. [ another smile, gently wry, because something so down to earth seems just a bit ridiculous. but this place... is lissa's roots. ]

You've got some pretty nice roots. [ he gives her an appallingly gross once-over. ] Nice stems, too.

[ oh that's... charming. lissa maintains the smile, arching an eyebrow a little, almost as if she's asking if that's all he's got as she moves marginally closer with a swish of the skirt of her dress. ] Thanks. And how do you know our darling hostess?

[ he smirks and turns to lean backwards against the edge of the table, so he can better face her. ]

It's alright. [ he pops a radish into his mouth with a grin ] I'm here incognito anyways. Don't need anyone else going all fangirl on me.

I promise I'll try not to swoon. [ mirroring his smile, she holds out her hand. ] I'm Lissa.

Roy. [ he takes her hand with a firm grip. ] No last names, how about.

But how will I find you on facebook? [ she bats her eyelashes in an over the top theatrical manner, very obviously teasing. ]

The last thing I need is any more internet stalkers.

Internet stalkers? Seems to be a pattern here, perhaps Callista invited us to a support group instead of a party.

[ he smirks ] Why do you say that?

Well you have your screaming fangirls who probably throw their underpants at you, I have a weird uncle who wants my parents' money. [ bluff 20 total, a little furrow appears between her eyes because that rang truer than she intended, the uncle bit. but she brushes it off with a self-deprecating smile before continuing. ] And our lovely hostess has her secret admirer.

Mmm. He sends her notes and flowers, it's quite sweet. But she worries, needlessly, I think.
