[ Christos leaves a note on Soo-Jin's door in the morning, to meet him in the breakfast room, because he's a creature of bad habits, and also he likes people coming to him, lbr. it's easy enough to find, a little nook in the dining hall, where he's the only situated at this hour. ]

So... [She presses her lips together for a moment and then opens her mouth, making a popping noise.] You, uh, gonna start orienting me now?

[ he pulls the paper taut and folds it, setting it down ] You've entered this organization as a squire, which implies that your current position here is tenuous. It is your responsibility to prove to me that you are capable of the demands missions place on the Knights who work here, and that your skills will be of use. If you come to us without any such skills, you'll have to work twice as hard to hone some.

Tenuous. [She draws the word out, testing its flavor. It leaves a terrible aftertaste in her mouth.]

You're gonna be judging me? [Good thing he obviously thinks so much of her already. /sarcasm. She's not that oblivous (sense motive 16). To be fair, he doesn't think much of most people.]

And what manner of skills are those?

[Soo-Jin knows she doesn't have a good reading on this one. (wis 15) But she's getting definite Wu vibes from him. So, she'll ease up on her slang, instead use her "good language skills" (as her old mentor would say). Well, for the most part.]

Spy skills. And thief skills. But mostly spying. I know how to slip into places unnoticed and stay hidden. I can also get into spaces most others can't. And I've had a lot of experience with procuring items and information, even things that were well hidden from prying eyes.

And where did you acquire this experience in the first place?
