Just like Fred said, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.

The room's full of the clanging of metal, as Dovan and Luthir fight, sword to axe, across the room, and Fred gathers everyone up on the gym side to explain things.

You bait and taunt and then forfeit on account of migraine? [ Her hands find her hips. ] You're joking, right?

[bigbad]

Hey, who's bloody forfeiting? Just needed a breather is all. I'm all right now. [He rolls his neck and gets into a more fight-ready position again. His head might be throbbing a bit still, but he's good to go. It's not enough to keep him from fighting.]

All right. I'm ready.

[slays]

[ She watches him for a moment, raising a judgy eyebrow at that, but then shrugs and steps forward to close the distance and deck him. It's a little ruthless and unceremonious, but he's the one who said he was fine. If he wasn't fine to get cracked in the jaw, maaaaybe he shouldn't have said he was good to go. Attack 20, 12 damage. ]

[bigbad]

[Oh, he's fine to get cracked in the jaw. He grins fiercely and kicks her hard, attack roll 26, 8 damage (Why do you make his very impressive attacks seem so very pathetic, Buffy? WHY?), but as soon as the kick hits, his head bursts into pain again and he almost loses his balance, but since he rolled a 19 balance check, he just stumbles and catches himself, reaching for his head again.]

Bloody hell! Why does this keep happening?

[slays]

[ The kick knocks her backward, but with a balance check of 18, she manages to only stagger back a step or two, although her ribs are pretty unhappy on the whole. She's down to 24 HP, which is just a little over half, so she's feeling a little winded from that hit.

But, Spike is apparently worse off. She briefly brushes a hand against where the kick had landed, dropping it when she sees him clutching his head again. ]

Again with the not even hitting you. What is your damage?

[bigbad]

No, it's been happening when I attack you. [He throws another punch at her, but he doesn't even manage to connect before his head erupts in pain, slightly less than the two times he actually hit her, but painful nonetheless. Enough pain that he has to sit down and hold his head.]

I don't know what's going on.

[slays]

What, like a ... head-splitty recoil? [ She frowns, dropping her hands and stepping closer to him. ]

[bigbad]

Yeah, that's what it feels like. [The instincts that were driving him to fight scream at him to attack again now, while she's close and has her guard down, but he doesn't. He doesn't need his head to hurt like that again.] Maybe it's got something to do with my memory being gone. [And here he'd thought it was just because he came through the veil.]

[slays]

[ She rests a hand on his arm. ]

Or maybe it's something one of the Clerics should look at. Come on, I'll take you to the Med Center.

[bigbad]

No, I'm all right, the pain's fading. [Maybe it was all in his head. Maybe he wasn't really a fighter. But it had felt so right before his head had exploded.]

[slays]

Yeah, you're all right now. What about the next time you try to hit someone? [ She frowns. ] Spike, you can't just ignore this.

[bigbad]

Maybe I could just... not hit people. [Except he instinctively hates that plan. Even during the few moments between headaches when he and Buffy were fighting... it felt so right. He likes violence. But the headaches... Dammit. Maybe she's right.]

[slays]

Yeah, that'll go over great. I don't think you really picked the right career to not hit people. Come on. I'm not asking. We're going.

[bigbad]

I could be a knight and not hit people. I could be... a diplomat. [No, Spike, you couldn't. Because eating people who annoy you is not a good diplomacy strategy.

Grumbling aside, he'll pretty much do what she says. She's bossy and leaderly like that.]

[slays]

[ She rolls her eyes. She's not even touching that. She moves past him to go briefly let Fred which I guess means she's Daphne know that they're going to the see the clerics. And then she's setting about dragging Spike off to the Med Center. ]

[bigbad]

[INSERT WALKING HERE. And then they get to the Med Centre. Spike gives Buffy an uncertain look.]

Still not sure I love this idea. I don't like doctors.

[slays]

How would you know if you can't remembering being to one? [ It's accompanied by a chastising look and she plants a hand on his back, shoving him in the doors. ]

[If they were expecting something with a lot of standard medical equipment, well... they don't get it. The room is mostly a number of beds laid out in a sterile looking room, a few of them occupied. A small number of Knights mill quietly about the room attending to them, but none of them seem to have any instruments in hand to do so with.

Sir Solace turns when they enter, looking between them as if trying to see which is injured and... being disappointed.]

Can I help you?

[bigbad]

[Spike looks back at Buffy helplessly, then his shoulders slump and he looks at the... cleric? Is that a cleric?]

There's something wrong with my head.

[slays]

[ God, Spike, you are incompetent. It's a good thing Buffy is being your mother and going to your doctor's appointment with you ... She steps in front of him, exasperated. ]

Migraines. Splitting, incapacitating pain -- every time he hits me. [ A beat. She exchanges a look with Spike. ] During ... training.

[sirsolace]

[He narrows his eyes at Spike] Do you commonly get headaches?

[bigbad]

This is the first time I can remember. [Which isn't saying much.] Didn't happen when I was fighting Fred. But every time I attacked Buffy... [He holds a hand up near his head and mimes an explosion.]

[slays]

But, I didn't do anything! I swear. I mean, okay, I was doing some serious hitting, but that's what we're supposed to do a-and it wasn't the hits.

If you were taking blows, a migraine certainly isn't an unusual reaction. If you'd like us to remove it, we can.

No, you don't get it. It wasn't when she hit me that it happened. It was when I hit her.
