The "afterparty" is the real main event of the night at every squiring, but tonight's party is a little different than usual - Faith has successfully lobbied (as in roped people into helping her decorate for) a Chinese New Year's party, or Lunar New Year, theme.  With Knights from all over the world, it was easy to get input from those who traditionally celebrate the holiday, and Wynn is all about the spirit of cultural unity.  Not to mention, the second of the 15 days of the spring festival is all about spending time with one's family and friends.  

The lavish, opulent ballroom has been transformed, filled with red lanterns, peach blossoms, kumquat plants, and chrysanthemums.    People are encouraged to dress in red to ward off evil spirits and bad luck, and avail themselves of the New Year's Cake, golden champagne cocktail, rice pudding, candied fruits, and the Tray of Togetherness.

As always, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

[ and while the words may seem callous, there's no malice in her tone, she plain ol' amusement as she takes in his outfit. however, an impish expression does flit of her features as she leans in conspiratorially ] Or did you just plan on getting into some nasty trouble and didn't want to ruin good clothes? [ she looks awfully hopeful it's the second one tbh ]

[Pan may be dressed like a, well. Like a teenager. But he's carrying himself with confidence, at least, and so he's not put out by the observation of his less than stellar clothing choices. He raises his brows innocently.]

Come now, I took an oath. I can't be getting into trouble.

[Laying it on a bit thick? Oh, who is he kidding? Nobody's going to believe that, not when he can't even help but break into a mischievous grin.]

[ yeah, she doesn't buy that, pan, but she does like that mischievous grin, and offers up one of her own ] Sometimes we don't have a choice. Trouble just finds us.

[He laughs.] Is that often your experience? [Pan does prefer to make trouble, himself, which is probably a bit obvious, if anyone knows a thing about him. Peter Pan isn't exactly known for being a well-behaved boy.]

[ it's the eyebrows, man. no one could pull of innocent with those. ] Oh yeah, quite often. I hope that doesn't change now that I'm here.

[It's true, his eyebrows are a dead giveaway.]

Well, if nothing else, the Knights should promise adventure. [Not quite the same as mischief, but at least it's something-- more than what he had in this world before he was invited to join them.]

Glad I seemed to have the right idea, at least from what I've heard so far. I've yet to see any proof, though. [ to which she looks slightly disappointed ]
