The "afterparty" is the real main event of the night at every squiring, but tonight's party is a little different than usual - Faith has successfully lobbied (as in roped people into helping her decorate for) a Chinese New Year's party, or Lunar New Year, theme.  With Knights from all over the world, it was easy to get input from those who traditionally celebrate the holiday, and Wynn is all about the spirit of cultural unity.  Not to mention, the second of the 15 days of the spring festival is all about spending time with one's family and friends.  

The lavish, opulent ballroom has been transformed, filled with red lanterns, peach blossoms, kumquat plants, and chrysanthemums.    People are encouraged to dress in red to ward off evil spirits and bad luck, and avail themselves of the New Year's Cake, golden champagne cocktail, rice pudding, candied fruits, and the Tray of Togetherness.

As always, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[SO THEY MAKE IT TO ANDREW'S ROOM. It's messy, because he wasn't expecting company. He kicks a few dirty socks out of the way, which... doesn't really help but whatever. The couch is mostly clear so he lets her sit while he goes to put the dvd in.]

Right. So uhm... [Awkwardly sitting down next to her..? He is the worst at this.]

You start that movie, and I'm going to go borrow your bathroom for just a minute.

[And by just a minute, she means two or three. And by borrow your bathroom, she means she's going to slip out of her dress and leave it on the bathroom floor and come back out in her lingerie and boots and nothing else and stand in the doorway.]

[It's good that Andrew can just go on autopilot to get the movie set up, because his head is not in the game for anything but thinking about that gorgeous woman who seems interested in him for some unknown reason.

He sits on an old couch in his room, beat up and worn. It's from college, actually. He's sentimental. Also it's worn in the right ways for his gaming. So he settles into the couch and waits. When he catches sight of movement, he turns.]

You missed the first par- [He stops and gulps. Like an actual audible gulp at the sight of her. After, with his mouth hanging open, he remains completely still.]

I... wow.

I did mean the whole not actually watching it thing, you know.

[She gives him a raised brow as she steps over before basically crawling over him, pushing his back into the couch cushions and straddling.]

But I'll take that reaction as a compliment.

[As she straddles him (for the first time since this is before their vday date), Andrew squeaks out a small noise in response.]
