It's Valentine's Day! All around people are happily snuggling up with their loved one or drowning their feelings in booze and/or ice cream. Give out cards or chocolate or commiserate with other single people! Whoo Valentine's Day!

That's where the fast car comes in handy. I'm always up for leaving, if you ever want to see more of the city.

[He can feel cramped in the castle, no matter how big it is.

He walks with her slowly toward the counter, letting her take her time to look around.]

[ she pauses, next to one of those brochures stands stuffed with tourist attractions, yanking a few out to look at them with interest ] ... Might have to take you up on that.

Glad to hear it.

[He wanders up to the counter, holding up two fingers and paying the fee, grabbing the two helmets they hand over before and their tickets before he carries them over to where she's checking out pamphlets.

He hands one of each over with a grin.]

The next race is starting soon. We can pick out our karts, unless you wanna wait for the one after and look around.

Why would I wanna wait? [ she grins and takes her helmet, backing up towards the entrance. ]

That's the answer I wanted to hear.

[He grins, following after her.

In side is the start of the track, which is lined on either side of the road with karts, and though they're all red, each has it's own number.]

Do you have a lucky number? You might need it. Just a warning.

[cuivre]

[He gives her a crooked smile, raising an eyebrow.]

Luck doesn't really help on the road very often.

[flyingsolo]

Maybe not, but if you're hoping to rely on outskilling me, you're in trouble.

I never said I didn't like a challenge.

[Though he's honestly looking forward to seeing her drive. She's confident, and that's something he's super into.]

I get the red one.

Yellow is mine.

[It's also positioned right next to hers. He moves down onto the track towards the two cars.]

[ she hops in, taking a moment to familiarize herself with the simple controls. ] Looks easy enough.

Yep. It's about having fun, nothing too fancy. Which is fine, as long as they're fast.

[flyingsolo]

They'd better be. Ready when you are.

[cuivre]

[He hops into his car, puts down the visor on his helmet, and gives her a nod.]

Let's do it.

[ as the green lights comes on, jaina puts the pedal down and... veers away as it's clear that she's not at all expecting these to work quite like they do. that first-time go-karter disorientation is not something she's immune to ok. but still she lets out a whoop of laughter as she careens away from the outside of the track in time and gets back on course (drive 14) ]

[For the record, Miles is much better at fixing cars than driving them oops. Probably because he had to drive a piece of shit for a really, really long time and only got to read about the pretty ones.

He's right behind her though as they come out of the gates, a smile plastered on his face at the sound of her laughter (drive 12)]

Not bad, Ace. But not good enough, either. [ she cranks the wheel to take a turn, but almost hits the side again lmao ]

Well, if it's going to be a contest...

[He manages to get his car up next to hers as she seems to have a little trouble figuring out the drift on the cart (drive 17)]

[ yeah or MAYBE SHE WAS BLUFFING because she suddenly cuts him off with a wicked grin (drive 23) ] Then I know who's gonna win!

[Checking out her moves, yo.]

So you were holding out on me!

[flyingsolo]

Use it or lose it, hero! [ and she sharply takes a corner up ahead, aww yis ]

[With another drive 17 check, he's at least taking turns like a champ, but he's not catching up to her unless she makes another mistake.]

Maybe I'll let you drive my car after all.

[He it's his baby, but she's got moves, clearly.]

[ she keeps right ahead of him, still smirking. ] Wow. On the first date?
