It's that time again. New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Tuesday- which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.

Sir Carpenter waits over by the firing range door, arms folded. Red-headed Sir Ironsides hefts an axe over his shoulder and offers a boisterous greeting to those approaching, and Fred helps round people up to the middle of the room.

Some of the squires' mentor Knights will have accompanied them - others will have left them to their own devices. Everyone's welcome to tag into threads or make their own!

I'd like to be useful. Though if my lack of knowledge might somehow compromise a mission, then I can understand why it's better that I remain here for the time being. That doesn't mean I have to like it, of course.

A little of both, honestly. Though it helps to have a sparring partner who doesn't glower at me whenever I try and pay her a compliment. [Sorry, boo. Force of habit.] Or even when I don't. [But yeah that was him basically throwing Christos under the bus.]

Who'd guess a good glower was worse than being run through.

That all depends. I wouldn't say the same had it been just anybody running me through. [Why does it sound like this is entering pegging territory tho.]

And besides, the truth of the matter is he only glowers at me when he's in one of his better moods. [By her own admission, she had met the man.]

Oh, you are dangerous, Squire Aedan. [ she's scowling a little as she says it, though calling him out on his charm makes her feel better for it. ] And when you're finally rid of him, you'll be lucky on top of it.

Fair enough. [He'd been called worse, after all.] To his credit, he has taught me a great deal. [Because as much as Christos wasn't into shooting the shit or ... being generally pleasant, he was still a wealth of knowledge and Aedan could appreciate that.]

Thought now you have me curious--have you been given a squire of your own to look after? [Like they were babies needing diaper changing or something wtf. Though that's kind of how some of them were treated tbh.]

I think I still give the older knights a bit too much trouble myself to be granted one. [ a knight is honest, after all. she tips her head, smirking a little. ] Which is fine for me; I've little interest in the job.
