training room ♔ (ota/multi-thread)

WHO || Fredrick Jr., Luthir, Dovan, entirely open
WHAT || Weapons training
WHERE || Knights HQ, Training Room / Armory / Firing Range / Gym, Dragon's Hide wing, 2nd floor
WHEN || Tuesday, March 4th from 10am onwards
HOW || Actionspam
It's that time again. New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Tuesday- which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.
Sir Carpenter waits over by the firing range door, arms folded. Red-headed Sir Ironsides hefts an axe over his shoulder and offers a boisterous greeting to those approaching, and Fred helps round people up to the middle of the room.
Some of the squires' mentor Knights will have accompanied them - others will have left them to their own devices. Everyone's welcome to tag into threads or make their own!

tour;
This room is always open, and considering the Dragon's Hide is the biggest sect in the castle, there's almost always someone up here willing to spar or offer pointers. If you have any serious questions, you can go hunt down Dovan Ironsides, the section leader, in the Hide wing, which is down the back hall to the right when you get up the steps.
Accidents happen, even when we're all looking sharp, which I suggest you do since things can get pretty dicey up here when the pros are going at it, so the Med Center and Cleric wing are straight out across the hallway.
Questions?

But he's fascinated by the weapons all the same. Knowledge hungry for learning all about them and the armor as well.
He smiles brightly at all the different metals, makes and shiny objects and gives the excited dwarf a smile.]
That is the single most impressive collection I have ever seen.

[That's awe more than shock in his voice as he resists the urge to touch. Knowing his luck, he'll cut open his hand trying to get a closer look.]
The detail work on some of these is stunning. Do you have a forge in the Castle?

Melee;
I'm here too, if anyone wants to pair up, and you can always spar with your mentor, if you brought them. Or each other.

Of course, there were some things that would remain "primitive" no matter how well-accustomed he became to his new home. His choice of broadsword as a sparring weapon should have been evidence enough of that. It looked like all of the new squires had already partnered up, however. For now, he was was content to sit and watch the other matches until a spot opened up.

I thought you'd never ask.
[Well not so much as Thoster in particular, but in general. You get the point. He'll perk right the fuck up back to his feet now. It's always polite to exchange pleasantries with someone before you proceed to bash each others' brains in.]
I'm Aedan. Are you one of the newest recruits?

Who do I have t'kill, d'y'think, to get them to install a vending machine in this place? [ her accent is so irish, it's hard not to think of her as a leprechaun. just don't do it out loud because she has a dagger tucked into her pale pink dress and she has a complex about being called a leprechaun. she will not hesitate to shank a bitch.
she's totally a leprechaun. ] 'course I've been here for six years and the thought only now just occurred to me so...

Oompa loompas on the other hand...]You might try running it by him. [Unsure whether or not she was actually soliciting his opinion when she plopped down beside him, but she's getting it anyway.]
Wynne strikes me as the reasonable sort. [In case she was wondering who this "him" Aedan spoke of actually was. Wynne called the shots around here, right? Seemed legit to ask him for shit.

Well, he does love me loads. I'm pretty much his favorite. [ really ella? you know what, kiddo, just keep flying your self-confidence flag. go on with yo' bad self. ] That's a good plan.

[ alanna draws her own sword, twirling it on either side of her with a smile. ] Aedan, is it? [ when you've been at the castle long enough, you pick up names, even of the knights you haven't met yet - alanna's been with them plenty long enough to have an idea. ]

At your service. [Though he doesn't recall ever having met her.] And you are?

Do they come with a manual?
[Yep. More comfortable studying books than practicing with firearms.]
