training room ♔ (ota/multi-thread)

WHO || Fredrick Jr., Luthir, Dovan, entirely open
WHAT || Weapons training
WHERE || Knights HQ, Training Room / Armory / Firing Range / Gym, Dragon's Hide wing, 2nd floor
WHEN || Tuesday, March 4th from 10am onwards
HOW || Actionspam
It's that time again. New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Tuesday- which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.
Sir Carpenter waits over by the firing range door, arms folded. Red-headed Sir Ironsides hefts an axe over his shoulder and offers a boisterous greeting to those approaching, and Fred helps round people up to the middle of the room.
Some of the squires' mentor Knights will have accompanied them - others will have left them to their own devices. Everyone's welcome to tag into threads or make their own!

At your service. [Though he doesn't recall ever having met her.] And you are?

and armor??? y/n?while she moves and makes conversation. ] You're not the only one to have trouble adjusting, you know. But you'll get there.no subject
Am I that obvious? Not to say I don't appreciate the words of encouragement.
[He follows her lead by raising his sword and stepping into the painted circle on the ground, moving in a counter motion so that he continues to face her as she moves. We're going to say that he's using a generic bastard sword from the armory so we can ignore any extra cold damage dealt by his usual weapon, too.]
After you. [Initiative be damned. Ladies first and all that jazz.]

When you're here long enough, you can pick out those who've come from Shadow Worlds that are less advanced than this one. Consider it a gift I've developed rather than a failing of your own.

And here I was under the impression that we weren't going to be taking it easy on one another.
[After which he immediately goes on the offensive, striking out with his weapon in an attempted slash across her torso (Attack 26, Damage 13). Yeah, she's gettin' one. At least he wasn't treating her like a delicate flower I guess...]

My apologies. I'm sure I won't be making that mistake again.
[Except his next attack is a lot sloppier than he'd intended (attack 15), and easily avoided by anyone actually paying attention.]

And you said you aren't a member of the Dragon's Hide? [Insinuated. Same shit.]

He doesn't miss a beat despite the new injuries, and immediately aims to stab the end of his sword into her shoulder to pay her back for the wound she'd inflicted on his (attack 31, damage 2).]
Solace? I don't believe I'm familiar.

Head of the Dragon's Light. [ she barely grazes him this time when she jabs past his side, but it leaves a nasty cut all the same (atk 20, dmg 6). ] We're healers.

You're the first I've seen to wield a blade so well. [Which was actually meant to be a compliment and not a knock at spirit healers in general. A staff could be just as deadly in the right hands.
He decides to attack lower than she's probably anticipating at this point, slashing at her thigh rather than going for her side, which she's probably expecting what with the way they were inflicting matching injuries upon one another (attack 23, damage 4). If it manages to slow her movements, then all the better.]

So I've noticed.
[His hand presses against the newest wound she'd inflicted to his side for a long moment (which is bleeding pretty profusely at this point), before he re-grips his own weapon and prepares to slice a bitch in half (attack 28, damage 8). Well, not really but he isn't exactly holding back. They really ought to consider that this was just training and killing one another was probably counter-productive to the cause they both served.]

Instead, he'll just take the few seconds it takes to watch her and catch his breath while applying a bit more pressure to the side where's she'd run him through. No fancy healing magic to stitch him back together tho. :'(]

[He wasn't going to give her the edge again because she was a lady tho. Once she's made it clear she's ready to continue he's stepping toward her, spinning about and bringing his weapon around to strike at her sword arm (attack 23, damage 3).]

I'm ten years a knight. It takes more than that to disarm me. [ she returns the blow for one of her own now, lunging forward (atk 26, dmg 10 because rolling a 19 is a critical hit for 2x on her short sword). ]

After recoiling from her second attack, he's immediately back on the offensive. The best defense is a good offense, and since she's capable of healing herself he doesn't intend to give her the opportunity to cast anymore spells if he can help it (attack 28, damage 5).]

if my math is right, alanna is at 12 hp and aedan is at 11 now? check my work. bc the disarm damage didn't go through w/her. ]

As are you, my lady. [She's not gettin' one. Besides, it's been too long since he's gotten to spar this well with anyone who isn't Christos. He makes a quick swap, transferring his sword to his less wounded off hand before coming at her once more to mirror the blow she'd just inflicted him (attack 32, damage 8).]
