It's over. After months of being sidelined by the trial of their friend Rafael, the Knights are finally free to return to England and see what headway the Dragon's Claws have made on discovering the location of the Talisman they seek.

But not everyone is so free to return. The consequence of getting Burt's assistance in disentangling Finnick from his contract and super-stardom was an ironclad agreement that allows Burt to sink his claws fully into Rafael's career. Considering that Burt knows their secret identity, non-disclosure agreement or not, the executive's renowned moral gray-itude doesn't exactly make it seem like a great plan to back out on the compromise.

They've at least been able to put off their goodbyes for a few days since the end of the trial, as Burt invited all of them to New York City for the opening of his brand new nightclub. Some of them flew out, while Archer and Des presumably drove their matching El Caminos cross-country in the days between. But now they've all met again in the Big Apple, for a celebration - and farewell of sorts.

Damn son. How are we all so pretty...? [ haha she is so glad though that no one is making her try the dress on because she don't wanna. ]

I suppose this will do. [ she looks at the price tag, which is like... nine-thousand dollars. and seems okay with that. ]

[ when gar comes out, she's wearing a blue-green low-cut number and katya has fussed her hair up and back. she's ushered in front of the mirror in her heels and stares at herself. ] ... Oh my.

[Des fusses with his tie a bit and looks up when Gar comes out, only to return to his tie, and then doubletake. Damn girl.]

Excuse me, ma'am, we seem to be missing our librarian- maybe you've seen her.

[Elena's eyes widen.]

[Gar looks hot. She's not even sure how to process this.

So she'll go...try on a few dresses instead.]

I should hardly think you have much room left to speak, Mr. Descant. [ it's been awhile since she's pulled that one out. let her enjoy it. ] It seems you clean up quite well after all. [ mark comes out behind her in a perfectly fit dark blue suit that looks hella fine, fixing the cuffs with an expert touch. ]

[ the hype brings buffy out of the dressing room, in the white dress she'd selected. her eyes grow large at the sight of gar. ] They're not kidding. You look amazing. We gotta do dress-up more often.

[Des rolls his eyes in Gar's general direction as he gets his tie straightened out.]

If we do, I don't recommend wearing white again. Tonight may go well, but I don't expect that good luck's gonna hold.

[Buffy if a fight breaks out, you're gonna look like Carrie at the prom in that...]

For once in my life, I'd like to not plan for worst-case-scenario violence. [ AKA SHUT UP DES NO ONE ASKED YOU. ]

[Meanwhile, Elena comes back out wearing this.]

And to the surprise of no one, Elena blows us all out of the water. [ she finally gets off her ass to tell mark he looks super hot, wow, and see what luthir is up to. ]

[Meanwhile, Spike has finally let them bully him into a dressing room and comes out wearing this. He wanders in front of a mirror that's not... all that helpful for a vampire, rolls his eyes, and wanders over to the others.]

I look a right ponce, right?

the sound of clacking heels behind them alerts them to kat's approach. she's squeezed into a curve hugging, low-cut, very short zebra print dress, but she's accessorized it with a cane at least. which she swings menacingly when anyone turns to look at her. ]

Anyone says one word, I start busting shins.

Pretty sure you need a top hat to put on the Ritz, Tex.

[He fears not for his shins. To Spike, he just grins cheekily.] Nice pinstripes. The pink really sets 'em off.

[ vi selects a basic black suit with a waistcoat that has a little detail and shoves him toward a dressing room. need help? wanna make out? just... saying. but she does glance over her shoulder at kat. ] Its like camouflage in the urban jungle.

without hesitation she lashes out with the cane towards des' legs but she's so unused to heels that she slips... and falls on her ass, unless someone can romantically catch her. ] For FUCK sake!

[DES GOT A NAT 20 REFLEX SAVE, so he grabs Kat by the arm to pull her back to her feet.

I think we can all readily agree that Burt's fashion sense should never enter into a bet again. For everyone's sake.

[ hate you. BUT FINE SHE DOES IT, retrieving her dress. she comes back out looking pretty fly, only to flop back down into her seat, still looking around for chocolate covered strawberries like the fancy dress ain't no thang... ]

[ burt finally makes his way back over with rafael and finnick in tow. raf seems to have warded off the ice cream man look to settle for his preferred classic black but in a very flattering cut, while finnick wears... whatever he eventually consented to.

rafael's eyes skim across everyone, particularly isa and buffy, and he affords them both a smile. ] You all look meraviglioso.

[ buffy smiles widely at the look on rafael's face, but her expression deteriorates into something bemused as he speaks. a moment's silence passes, and she quirks a brow, glancing around. ]

... Isn't that a skin condition?
