The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Well that got some happy purrs from Venus who accepted the scritches.]

Oh she knows she is. A vain thing she is. [ He chuckled all the same.] For me mostly, her birthday is in June, We just felt this was ample choice to celebrate.

[ he held a hand down to her then.] I'm Mars, and she's Venus.

[she gets back up on her feet, taking mars's hand to assist.] Very planetary! I'm Astrid. Is Mars actually your name? Like, were your parents astrologists or something?

[ he didn't mind at all to help her up.] Astrid is quite the interesting name, does it mean anything? [ A curious hint to his tone before he chuckled.] Sadly no, they were pretty boring, a banker and real estate agent, but my names actually Marshall, everyone's called me Mars as far back as I can remember though.

Um, it means divine strength, I think. [int 13. because who hasn't at least googled ~what their name means~ at some point in their life?] That's pretty cool, though. Your name. Nickname, whatever. Astrid doesn't really shorten to anything, so it's what I'm stuck with.

That's still pretty cool. [ Easily impressed he is.] It is, I rather like it, and it comes with the bonus of matching cat name so hey, that's cool too. But i like Astrid its real original.

[snort] Not original so much as old-fashioned. [and then, at the exact same moment this ~brilliant idea~ occurs to her:] You should drive a Saturn! Get another planet in there.

Hey I like that old fashioned stuff though.

[ He laughed a bit at that comment.]

Oh god no, Saturn's are hideous! I like the joke but no thank you. Maybe a Chevy Nova to keep with the space theme? Nova's are pretty cool.
