The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Looking around shocked, while a pretty black cat with bright orange eyes trailed behind him... with a little party hat on her head. Her master is a dork.

Once inside he just kind of stood there unsure what to do for now. Venus walking around his feet.]

[ ella had skipped the actual squiring, spending the time on the phone with her brother instead of sleeping through that boring ass ceremony. but she makes a point to go to the party because SHE HAS A SQUIRE. it's not hard to find him, since he is so bloody tall, so the four foot tall ginger hurries over to his side, her fluffy ginger and white cat trailing along behind her. familiars unite! ]

Hiya! Marshall, innit? [ her irish accent is comically thick. ] You're my new squire! [ she is genuinely pleased by this, okay, and she sticks out her hand for a handshake. ] I'm Elinor Cailte, but you better call me Ella or I'll fucking set you on fire.

[By some miracle, David actually looks good again (disguise 18). He is slowly but surely learning the ways of black tie appropriate attire. Who knows how long this streak will actually last, but the narration is not complaining.

At least he's not in a three piece suit this time.

Unfortunately, despite his good lookin' status, he's twice as hermity this month, grabbing his usual drink and lurking off in a dark corner, as he do. Possibly because he's trying not to call attention to himself? Which also makes sense in why he's managed to do well with dressing this month.

It's easy to blend in in a party where everyone looks good if you look good too.

His disguise check of 21 means he's looking damn fine today in a dark blue shirt, black jeans, and the same leather duster he always wears. But I guess he freshly bleached his hair or something.

He's being lurky, just a few feet away from the booze table, and watching the proceedings. He seems to be looking for someone, and that's probably because he is. He's hoping Myri'll turn up. But he's not being so active as to actually search for her. That'd be ludicrous.]

[ emma actually wants to be here; you can tell by her nat 20 disguise check, which comes with a strapless champagne-colored dress that reaches her knees and a well-manicured, curly updo. she took the time to put effort into her looks, and she's wearing matching heels - practically unrecognizable as the usually rough-and-tumble woman in jeans and leather.

apparently airing shit with faye and bonding is a good look for her. or maybe the party just reminded her that she can learn how to have fun once in a while and be the savior. whatever the case for her good mood and its reflection in her appearance, she's mingling near the doors to the garden, drinking champagne and happily chatting up the new squires. ]

[With his disguise check of 23, Hook's looking handsome tonight. And it's not particularly surprising that Emma takes his breath away. She could do that while wearing a sack.

Still, there's something particularly striking about seeing her dressed like this. Perhaps it's because he knows she really is a princess, or perhaps he just enjoys the sight of her gorgeous legs and smooth shoulders. Whatever it is, he can't stop himself from approaching her.]
