The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I'm sure it is. I don't know how you all got by without me. [ she looks at his glass, and then her own, raising it in a bit of a toast ] Aside from the obvious methods.

Well, now you can meet up with your best friend at the castle pool tomorrow and learn how to not drown. Although, hopefully it's not an experience we'll have to repeat.

[Well, this is going to hurt, no matter which way it goes. She circles the party for a long time even after realizing he's there, either avoiding him or gathering up courage, or just sneaking glances. But eventually, she can't help herself, and so she comes up behind him quietly, and says in a very even voice:] I... thought I would tell you... welcome back to the castle.

[he knows the sound of her voice; knows it's her before even turning around.] I — thanks. [so anxious.] How have you been?

Better, I think. Returning to the castle was... a wise choice for me. [She still sounds a little sad about it.] And you?

You didn't miss much. [besides part of their group CAREENING INTO THE THAMES. and minotaurs. and all that other crazy shit.] I'm glad to finally be back.

[witchwoman]

And I'm-- we're-- glad to have you back. [Wait, she said that already.] I mean, I'm glad you were able to walk away from all that after all, like you wanted to.

Hey, I saw you on tv. [ her curls bounce over her shoulders as lila's head tips to study him, tapping her fingers against her collarbone thoughtfully like she's doing math. she is. like how much his autograph would go for on ebay. ] Cuter in person. Your tie is crooked.

So... [ she slides a napkin over. pulls a pen from nowhere. no, there was one nearby. ] Can I have your autograph?
