The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Did you know that there's an organized crime ring there controlled by a dude who looks like he has an octopus on his face? He's kind of a dick, actually. But he had these two pet minotaurs. One of them was named Albert, poor dear. He's dead now. [ she pouts a little like she is genuinely distressed by poor albert. ] So Octopus Face eats brains. It's completely disgusting. And he has this cool mind control thing. Which is much less disgusting.

I guess that's not really a secret though, just something I know that you might not.

I ... can't say that I knew that, no. [wtf child. well that is ... something.] It makes me wonder how many minotaurs are being used a muscle. My teammates encountered a few when we went to New York, too.

Maybe they're all in the same cute little minotaur gang. I mean, they're not the brightest crayons in the box, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a minotaur union where they get farmed out to people that need them as bodyguards.

That sounds more like a slave ring than a gang.

Well, yeah. But it sounds reasonable, right? [ a beat. ] Not the slavery part, that's fucked up, they should at least get a choice. And benefits. But it could happen, couldn't it?

It seems possible. I've seen stranger things in my time here.

A giant worm monster exploded out of the ground when I was on cemetery duty for a mission. And when it died? It literally exploded. Sent poison spines everywhere.

That's gross.

That's a negative. There were ... more pressing matters at hand than thinking of picking up some spines to take home with us.

Boo. Hook managed to hoard all the gold and gems while we were being stalked by shady goblins and you couldn't even grab some poison spines. [ her nose wrinkles with all the not actually judgemental judgement. ]
