The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Uh ... I think his name was Eric? Blonde, scowly?

[well that name sure turned her smile into a frown.] Carpenter, huh? Ugh, my apologies.

[they're so not best friends it's hilarious.]

[ambitionist]

[and that earns a raised eyebrow from him. GOTTA DROP THOSE DEETS GURL.] What? What's wrong with him?

Ye mean aside from having his panties so far in a twist it's a surprise he doesn't talk in a soprano? [there is absolutely no love lost in her voice as she speaks]

[ambitionist]

[snort] Yeah, besides that.

oh my god can't believe I lost this! I am so so sorry!

[attollores]

[she takes another sip of her drink, shaking her head.] He's a good Knight, really. He just has a problem with...everyone nearly. Wouldn't know a good time if it bit him in the arse.

That's a shame. Those kinds of people, I find, are the ones who could use a good time the most.

Ugh, okay enough talking 'bout Carpenter. Tell me something about yourself.

[ambitionist]

[he snorts a laugh.] What kind of something? Big something or a little something?

[attollores]

How about a medium something?

[ambitionist]

Breadbox-sized? [he laughs] Hm ... well, I'm from New York. Born in Brooklyn, lived in Manhattan for a long time. The Knights picked me up when I was in Japan, though.

[attollores]

[that peaks her interest and she leans forward, cradling her glass against her cheek.]

Japan, really? What brought you from Manhattan to Japan?

[ambitionist]

I just ... really love giant robots. [there's so much sarcasm in his voice that it's impossible to take that statement seriously, ok.]

[attollores]

[she snorts, flagging down another glass of wine, saying dryly as she does] The lengths we go to for love, hmm?

[ambitionist]

Oh, definitely. But I had to give up on love, and now I'm here.

[attollores]

And what do you think of "here" so far?

[ambitionist]

I like it, it's nice. I'm a fan of the whole idea of belonging to something bigger than myself, you know? But we'll see how it pans out.

[attollores]

Aye, I understand that. I felt the same, when I joined. The nice thing about the Knighthood is while there are so many of us here, you can do your own thing all ye want. I'm here for ye as a guide, someone you can bounce questions off of if ye like, and to make sure ye don't get lost in the shuffle. I hope I can help it pan out in the best way for ye.
