The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ she snorts, shaking her head. ] No, it just makes me a squire longer. I've been here for a year and change.

Is that about how long the process takes?

I've heard less. Eric's kind of a dick though so it'll be never for me. [ her shoulders lift in a shrug and she scratches at her scar absently. she doesn't seem too fussed tbh, but she's never been that ambitious so it doesn't bother her. ] I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Alexander.

Alex. No one calls me Alexander. Ever.

[oh lord. he can tell, too. fuck his life. he decides to change the subject by glancing around and observing] So, I see Eyebrows isn't around.

Nope, he works in Chicago so. [ so technically he is still in london because it's not their anniversary yet, ha!, but aside from faye's birthday, lila keeps knights and boyfriend separate. ]

And Battleship is how you keep the spark alive?

Between bouts of truly phenomenal sex, yeah. [ bitch, they don't need to keep the spark alive. this shit is on fire. ] Wanna dance?

[probably 8( that would be his life.] Kinda cool. Better than what I was up to before I was recruited.

[he doesn't mind that; she may continue.] Being unemployed in Tokyo. Which I do not recommend, ever. I had enough money to keep me alive, but it was getting kind of narrow near the end there.

Oh, you poor dear. [ she sounds genuinely distressed for past alex. being poor is awful. ] How did you get recruited?

[ambitionist]

[IT WAS, OKAY. it really was.] There were some knights over there for a mission. I happened to make myself useful.

[bittersweeter]

And how did you do that? [ curious kitten, isn't she? ]

I have a wide skill set.

My Japanese is decent, I know a ton about weapons, and I can do stuff like this. [his hand finds its way to the back of her neck — and suddenly there's a sensation of sparks, and then nothing. like she took a bath in novocaine. (concentration 14)]

[ she flinches slightly because NO ONLY SHE CAN DO THAT but then the sensation hits, or rather the lack thereof, and her expression turns to utter surprise as she sways a little helplessly. good thing they're dancing so he's already holding on to her because she's a little distracted from silly things like standing up on her own because of the blissful feeling of nothingness. slowly, a smile brightens her face. ] What are you?

[as he moves his hand from her neck, the sensation doesn't immediately cease, but it starts to slowly fade.] The word amazing may have been used before. Also, psionic. Or something like it.
