The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Des didn't even bother to get "gussied up." He is, as of this moment, dressed in the same clothes he always wears- black leather jacket, jeans, etc. So formal. Very class. If that wasn't enough to surprise anyone, he seems to be on a mission.]

Excuse me? Yeah, hi. I'm lookin' for the O'Keefes? Anyone seen 'em?

[You can catch him midway through his hunt or you can find him afterwards attractively piling food on a plate at the buffet table and stuffing his face. Yeah, he's very elusive and mysterious and sexy, this one.]

anastacia leans over, all ridiculously pantene commercial blonde hair and unearthly blue eyes, and says to him conspiratorially as she builds her own plate: ] You should really try the crab puffs.

[Des stares at her while he chews whatever the hell he has in his mouth currently- it was probably an entire meatball judging by the way his left cheek is puffed out as he tries his best not to chew with his mouth open- THAT'S THE DIGNITY YOU'RE GETTING, CASTLE.

He swallows, finds aforementioned crab puffs and adds them to his growing plate.]

I'll give 'em a shot, but it's hard to abide seafood this far from Louisiana.

And I have a high metabolism. If I don't eat every hour, I just keel over. [This is not true, but immortality burns calories like you would not effing believe. Sadly, it has done nothing for his manly figure.]

I have a high metabolism and I never sleep so I need to eat 24/7 or I'll probably die. [ so there. but she moves forward to grab some more food, pouting because it's not nando's and she is emotionally compromised by peri peri chicken. ] Who are you?

[There's a man dressed so subtly in head to toe red and black spandex standing next to Des at the food table. He taps Des' shoulder and leans in to mutter:]

So don't panic, but I've misplaced one of my fun-size grenades and I think I last saw it in the lasagna.

[You know, that lasagna that Des is currently piling onto his plate....]

[APPETITE GONE. Des stares at his plate, glances around and casually dumps it back into the serving dish. No one saw that.]

[ vi was going to ignore des because ugh, but she's been liberally liquored and aedan asked her to dance so she's in a weird state of getting back in the castle groove zen. which is why she slides over to des, tossing her long hair over her shoulder. ]

Okay, so I know it's super duper tragic that you're going to live forever and you hate it because, much like a dinosaur, all your friends are dead. It's probably awful. But did you know that people like me, the super duper extra divine, can live to upwards of two thousand years apparently? Surprise! We can. So you. [ she pokes him in the chest. much poke. very strong. wow. god she is comically weak. ] Are keeping us all at arm's length to protect yourself when... I'm gonna live for half of how old you are. And you could have a friend for all that time.

[ a beat. ] You dick.
